Position Summary
The Usher position has a commitment to excellence in guest service and assists guests of the PPG Paints Arena in locating their seats during events. Will be required to join the union, upon invitation, following 90-day probationary period This role will pay an hourly rate of $16.26 (per CBA).Benefits as per the union agreement. This position will remain open until October 16, 2026.
About the Venue
As a leading entertainment venue, PPG Paints Arena is the regional epicenter for athletic events, concerts, and family shows in Western Pennsylvania and home to the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins.
Responsibilities
Deliver superior guest service while ensuring proper safety/sanitization protocols are being followed. Assists guests in locating their designated seats. Provide extra assistance if necessary.provide elevator service to various levels of the facility for our guests as needed.Ensure crowd control stays at a reasonable level, and assist in any emergency situations.Provide directional assistance by becoming knowledgeable about locations throughout the facility.Keep aisles clear of debris/spills and guests to ensure a safe and clean environment.Enforce rules and regulations of the building (i.e., no smoking, no throwing of objects)Provide courtesy, respect, and professionalism to all guests and fellow employees.
Qualifications
Ability to work with minimal supervisionStrong customer service skillsExcellent problem-solving skillsGood verbal and interpersonal skills requiredProfessional presentation, appearance and work ethicAbility to work irregular hours, including night shifts, weekends and holidaysAbility to interact with all levels of staff, including managementAbility to work flexible hours, including daytime, evening, weekends and holidays, as neededAbility to understand tickets to ensure proper seatingMust have professional attitude and appearanceAble to perform frequent stair climbing, walking, and standing to access all seating areas. Ability to work in a position that may be exposed to high noise levels and confined spaces.Will be required to join the union, upon invitation, following a 90-day probationary period.
