About Us

At moss.ag, we build robots to go where humans won't, digitizing the physical outdoor world to make it machine-readable. Starting with tree farms — where a single field holds millions of plants no human has ever fully inventoried. 🌲🤯🌳
We’re a small team of practical engineers with a long-term vision. We focus on real, messy, on-the-ground problems today, while working toward a future where autonomous field robots make harsh outdoor jobs easier and safer.
If our mission aligns with how you work and think, we’d love to learn more about you!

About the Role

We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented full-time Field Testing Operator to join our team. You'll be the boots on the ground at our customer and testing sites — operating our robotic sensor equipment, testing new hardware and software features and supporting on-site data collections. This is a hands-on outdoor role that requires early starts, physical stamina, and a genuine interest in how technology is changing agriculture.

What You'll Do

  • Travel to designated farm sites and operate moss's sensor kit to complete data collection missions
  • Learn to use our sensor equipment and become responsible for set up, mounting and scanning of farm data
  • Log condition notes and field observations for every mission
  • Manage all assigned equipment responsibly — inspect on receipt, keep secure during the day, and complete a full teardown checklist at day's end (including battery charging, cleaning, and storage)
  • Promptly report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or unexpected field conditions

What We're Looking For

  • Prior experience in horticulture, nurseries and farms, landscaping, or outdoor fieldwork preferred
  • Ability to operate farm vehicles
  • Comfortable learning new technologies and partnering with engineering teams to provide feedback during field testing and validation
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions — early mornings, heat, light rain, mud
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accurate data recording
  • Reliable, communicative, and able to work independently once on-site
  • Valid driver's license required; ability to travel to farm sites (some out-of-state travel may be required)
  • Physically fit and able to walk large acreage on foot throughout a full workday

What We Offer

  • Full-time salaried position with competitive pay
  • All tools, equipment, and PPE provided (gloves, hard hat, rain gear, sensor kit, tablet, ATV)
  • Mileage reimbursement for sites 100+ miles from home; travel stipend for out-of-state assignments
  • Opportunity to work at the intersection of robotics and agriculture with a fast-growing startup
