Accountabilities:

    As a Lead Software Engineer, Backend, you will take ownership of designing, developing, and improving scalable backend systems while providing technical leadership within an engineering team. You will contribute to architecture decisions, product development, operational excellence, and mentoring initiatives.

    • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and efficient backend services that support enterprise-level requirements.
    • Build new product capabilities while enhancing existing systems and improving overall platform performance.
    • Solve complex engineering challenges related to scalability, reliability, distributed systems, and backend architecture.
    • Optimize backend systems to improve speed, efficiency, availability, and maintainability.
    • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, implementation, testing, deployment, debugging, and production operations.
    • Contribute to incident response activities and help maintain high levels of system reliability.
    • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to improve engineering quality.
    • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following modern engineering best practices.
    • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, leadership teams, sales teams, and customers to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
    • Improve development, deployment, and operational processes to increase engineering effectiveness.
    • Mentor and coach engineers by sharing technical knowledge and supporting professional growth.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate new approaches that improve product capabilities.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate brings strong backend engineering expertise, experience building scalable systems, and the ability to contribute as both an individual contributor and technical mentor. You should be comfortable working on complex technical problems and collaborating across teams.

      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
      • 7+ years of experience building backend applications using modern programming languages.
      • Strong experience designing and developing distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-based applications.
      • Experience working with modern databases and data storage technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar solutions.
      • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, system design, and web development best practices.
      • Experience building highly available and scalable backend services.
      • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a focus on delivering practical solutions.
      • Ability to learn, evaluate, and adopt new technologies and programming languages.
      • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
      • Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting the growth of other engineers.
      • Ability to take ownership of technical initiatives and drive projects from design through delivery.
