Sr. Software Engineer II (Mobile Platform)

Hybrid, MA$119k–$221kPosted Jul 15, 2026

Insurance touches people during some of the most challenging moments in their lives. Hi Marley is on a mission to transform how the P&C industry communicates, making those moments faster, easier, and more empathetic for carriers and the customers they serve. We build AI-powered software that keeps everyone in the claims conversation informed and connected. If you believe insurance can combine operational excellence and automation with a human touch, we’d love to meet you.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Sr. Software Engineer II (Mobile Platform) to help lead the technical direction of our React Native mobile application. Our app puts the Marley experience in the hands of adjusters and policyholders on iOS and Android, including in the highly regulated, device-managed environments our enterprise carriers require (Microsoft Intune / MAM, Okta and MSAL authentication).

This is a role for a senior engineer who wants to build on an established, actively-supported codebase and raise its bar across the board: strengthening its security posture, modernizing its dependencies and native tooling, advancing our CI/CD pipeline, and producing documentation the whole organization can rely on. You'll work with significant autonomy, help set the technical direction for the mobile surface, and be a trusted contributor the company counts on to keep it secure, current, and shippable — working alongside the engineers and teams who already support it. Teamwork and shared enthusiasm are a core part of our culture, which is why this role involves joining us in the Boston office for 2-3 days each week.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead on the mobile app. Serve as a senior engineer and technical leader for our codebase across iOS and Android — contributing across feature development, architecture, dependencies, release, and production support.
  • Uphold a strong security posture. Keep authentication and device-compliance flows (Okta, MSAL broker, Microsoft Intune MDM/MAM) robust, respond to findings from infosec and app-store compliance reviews, ensure sensitive data and PII are handled responsibly in logs and at rest, and maintain a healthy cadence of dependency and vulnerability scanning.
  • Extend our secure session and data handling as the app grows. Build on established patterns for secure on-device storage, token refresh and re-authentication after backgrounding or restart, session expiry, and sign-out teardown — applying them to new features and keeping them consistent across iOS, Android, and under Intune policy.
  • Modernize and maintain the stack. Keep React Native, native modules, and third-party libraries current and secure; manage SDK and OS-version upgrades; reduce technical debt; and strengthen the guardrails (linting, type checks, automated tests) that keep the codebase healthy.
  • Mature the delivery pipeline. Advance our automated CI/CD, improve quality and security gates, automate signed releases, and manage code signing, credentials, and versioning.
  • Deliver significant documentation updates. Keep our documentation for architecture, authentication and Intune flows, local dev setup, and the release/runbook process current, and add to it as the app evolves — so that onboarding, incident response, and carrier onboarding stay fast and less reliant on tribal knowledge.
  • Partner cross-functionally. Work with Security/Infosec, DevOps, Product, and customer-facing teams to translate compliance and business requirements into a reliable mobile experience, and provide guidance and code review to other engineers who touch the app.
  • Support the app in production. Help lead release health, crash/error monitoring, and store-review responses, and serve as an escalation point for mobile issues.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience (or 4+ years with a Master's, or equivalent experience), with a substantial track record building and shipping production mobile applications.
  • Strong React Native / Expo experience, with comfort dropping into the native layer — Xcode/CocoaPods and iOS build & signing, Android/Gradle, and writing or debugging native modules (our app includes custom native bridges). Hands-on experience across both iOS and Android is a plus, but depth on one platform with a willingness to grow into the other is welcome.
  • Proven experience leading mobile CI/CD and release engineering — automating builds and store delivery to TestFlight and Google Play (e.g., EAS Build/Submit, Fastlane, GitHub Actions or similar), managing certificates, provisioning, and app signing, and running OTA update channels.
  • A strong security mindset, with hands-on experience in mobile authentication (OAuth/OIDC, Okta, MSAL/Microsoft identity), and ideally mobile device/app management (Intune MDM/MAM) and secure handling of PII in regulated environments.
  • Current with the mobile ecosystem and industry best practices — platform changes, security, and tooling — and proactively brings that knowledge to the codebase rather than waiting for problems to surface.
  • Excellent judgment and autonomy. You work on a wide range of assignments with limited supervision, recognize connections across the codebase and toolchain, and proactively recommend and drive improvements rather than waiting for direction.
  • A bias toward durable systems and clear documentation. You leave the codebase, pipeline, and docs better than you found them, and you write things down so the whole team can build on your work.
  • A collaborative, low-ego approach. You communicate openly even when it's hard, amplify the strengths of the people around you, provide thoughtful code review and guidance to less-experienced peers, and take shared accountability for team outcomes.
  • A genuine curiosity about AI and emerging technologies, paired with the judgment to apply them thoughtfully and responsibly
  • At this time, we are only able to consider candidates who are currently authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require sponsorship now or in the future.
