This role sits at the center of a fast-growing SaaS organization’s revenue operations, owning the full revenue accounting lifecycle from billing to recognition. Accountabilities:
- Own the end-to-end revenue cycle, including client invoicing, billing accuracy, accounts receivable management, collections, and dispute resolution activities in a timely and structured manner.
- Prepare and maintain revenue recognition schedules, deferred revenue reconciliations, and monthly journal entries aligned with ASC 606 requirements.
- Monitor key revenue metrics such as DSO, unbilled revenue, collections performance, and billing accuracy, providing insights to leadership.
- Support month-end close processes, audit requests, and financial reporting related to revenue, accounts receivable, and deferred revenue.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure proper contract setup, revenue treatment, and billing configurations.
- Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, ERP optimization (NetSuite), and acquisition integrations.
- Provide guidance and coordination to accounting team members on billing and revenue-related activities, acting as a subject matter expert.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with CPA or CPA candidacy strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2+ years in a senior or lead accounting role.
- Strong SaaS industry experience, with hands-on exposure to revenue recognition and billing processes.
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP and demonstrated expertise applying ASC 606 to complex contracts and revenue arrangements.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, with strong preference for NetSuite experience, and advanced Excel capabilities.
- Proven experience managing accounts receivable, collections, deferred revenue, and contract review processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, influence, and coordinate work across teams without formal managerial authority.
- Experience in audit preparation and process improvement initiatives is highly desirable.
- $100,000 – $105,000 annual salary range
