Support the implementation of the Academy Vision, Mission and Objectives through the delivery of analysis work with the Professional Development Phase. This role will provide analysis leadership within the Insights department as well as lead the analysis provision for the U18 age group. This role will support the overarching age group objectives and commitments to player development in collaboration with the wider multi-disciplinary team. Furthermore, the role will lead the creation of bespoke, streamlined data systems and effective workflows to ensure the delivery of the Insights department strategic objectives.
• Have 2+ years’ experience working as an analyst (or similar title) in elite sport.
• Have experience in the effective management and use of data to measure player development.
• Understand the demands and processes within an elite football environment.
• Be competent in using Apple Mac Products and Microsoft Office.
• Have experience in designing analytical workflows to support pre-match, live and post-match analysis in elite sport.
• Be highly skilled in the use of SportsCode, Hudl Insight, and Power Bi.
• Be highly skilled at communicating and presenting to coaches and players using a combination of video and data.
• Have high levels of empathy and care for young people and their development.
• Be diligent with and excellent eye for detail.
• Possess good emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
• Hold a UEFA C Coaching Qualification.
Ideally, Lead Analyst will:
• Have experience in conducting case study research to support individual development plans.
• Have experience of managing iterative processes within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Hold a UEFA B Coaching Qualification.
• Hold an operator ID with the Drone and Model Aircraft Registration Team, CAA.
• Be creative when implementing strategies for process improvement.
• Have a curious nature when it comes to the evolution of football insights,
• Hold a FA Safeguarding qualification.
• Be FA First Aid Qualified.
• Lead the creation and dissemination of analysis workflows throughout the Insights department ensuring these are appropriately aligned and scaffolded across phases and age groups.
• Manage analysis students through effective and robust recruitment, induction and appraisal processes.
• Manage hardware and software equipment to ensure the Insights staff effectively function and deliver on department objectives.
• Support the tracking of key results to ensure Insights strategic objectives are met.
• Lead weekly department meetings and contribute to monthly knowledge share events.
• Be an active member of the U18s multi-disciplinary team developing, monitoring, and reviewing both team and individual KPI's across the season.
• Support the broad player development processes with the U18 MDT to ensure a tailored individual approach.
• Ensure 'best practice' is used throughout the Academy with specific regards to the capturing, coding, and visualisation of video and data.
• Support the U18 MDT with timely and appropriate presentations / reports to support ongoing and iterative reflections of player performance.
• Contribute to our student learning programme by providing support to staff around coding and presenting of video content.
• Undertake continued professional development and be able to present learnings back to the Insights teams and/or U18 MDT.
• Support the highest levels of safeguarding.
