Our culture of growth and empathy focuses on your long-term career development while valuing your unique skills and experiences. **Your role and responsibilities** As an Associate entry level Application Developer at IBM, you'll work with clients to co-create solutions to major real-world challenges by using best practice technologies, tools, techniques, and products to translate system requirements into the design and development of customized systems. In your role, you may be responsible for: Working across the entire system architecture to design, develop, and support high quality, scalable products and interfaces for our clients Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define technical specifications for generative AI projects Employing IBM's Design Thinking to create products that provide a great user experience along with high performance, security, quality, and stability Working with a variety of relational databases (SQL, Postgres, DB2, MongoDB), operating systems (Linux, Windows, iOS, Android), and modern UI frameworks (Backbone.js, AngularJS, React, Ember.js, Bootstrap, and JQuery) Creating everything from mockups and UI components to algorithms and data structures as you deliver a viable product an Application Developer with expertise in Microsoft .NET, you will design, develop, and assemble custom information systems based on IT requirements. You will utilize your proficiency in C# and/or VB.NET, MVC, ASP.NET, Entity Framework to create functional and technical designs, models, components, code, unit tests, and documentation. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Design and Develop Applications: Create functional and technical designs, models, components, code, unit tests, and documentation for custom information systems using Microsoft .NET. • Work with Databases: Develop applications end-to-end using the Microsoft custom development stack, working with databases such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, and MySQL. • Utilize Development Frameworks: Apply the latest .NET Framework and proven application development processes, methods, and tools to deliver high-quality applications. • Implement Continuous Development: Utilize Continuous Development and Deployment Frameworks, such as Microsoft DevOps tools and Agile delivery methods, to ensure efficient and effective application development. • Deliver Solutions: Assemble and deliver custom information systems that meet IT requirements, ensuring functional and technical designs meet expectations. **Required technical and professional expertise** Demonstrated programming proficiency and experience with 1 of the following (Java, C++, Python, Scala, R, SAS, SQL, Hadoop, HTML, SPSS, VBA, Tableau, Spark, Angular, ReactJS), as well as systems design/development, and information technology course work Exposure to web services, API and Java application frameworks such as Springboot Ability to translate business requirements into technical solution Familiarity with generative AI modeling, ethics, and methodologies Familiarity with Microservices architecture, infrastructure concepts and cloud platforms AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and Google Cloud Proficiency in .NET Programming: Exposure to C# and/or VB.NET, MVC, ASP.NET, Entity Framework, with ability to design, develop, and assemble custom information systems. • Database Development Experience: Experience working with databases such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, and MySQL to develop applications end-to-end using the Microsoft custom development stack. • .NET Framework Knowledge: Exposure to the latest .NET Framework and proven application development processes, methods, and tools. • Continuous Development and Deployment: Exposure to Continuous Development and Deployment Frameworks, such as Microsoft DevOps tools and Agile delivery methods. • Custom Application Development: Experience working on custom information systems, creating functional and technical designs, models, components, code, unit tests, and documentation. **Preferred technical and professional experience** Have flexibility to work across architecture - building both front end and backend Help maintain and improve code quality, organization, and automatization Communicate with stakeholders on technical issues Design and code servers, services, applications and databases on platforms such as PostgreSQL, MySQL and Oracle that are reusable, scalable and meet critical architecture goals. Proficiency in working with Git repositories for version control and collaborative development Familiarity with Agile Methods: Exposure to Agile delivery methods, with understanding of iterative development and continuous improvement. • Knowledge of Cloud Platforms: Experience working with cloud-based databases such as Azure SQL. • DevOps Tools Familiarity: Exposure to Microsoft DevOps tools, with understanding of continuous integration and deployment practices.
