Job Description

Join Allstate’s Litigation Services team as a Paralegal Specialist, where your contributions will be essential to delivering strong legal outcomes and exceptional service to our clients.
This role supports the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and is open to candidates located in the New York metro/Westchester area or within the state of Florida, with the expectation of attending the office as needed. You’ll work closely with experienced attorneys on insurance litigation matters, supporting federal court cases involving pleadings, discovery, and motion practice. You’ll take ownership of key components of the litigation lifecycle while building expertise in a fast-paced, team-driven legal environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage litigation files from inception through resolution, including trial preparation
  • Draft and file pleadings, including preparing answers, and support discovery and motion practice for attorney review
  • Handle e-filing in federal courts and ensure compliance with applicable rules and procedures
  • Support SIU-related litigation matters, including cases involving insurance fraud and complex claims
  • Prepare arbitration and trial materials, including exhibits and supporting documentation
  • Utilize Excel to track case data, deadlines, and reporting needs
  • Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely filings and compliance
  • Maintain organized file management, including claim files and litigation documents
  • Communicate with attorneys, clients, and opposing counsel to support case progression
  • Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to maintain high-quality case work

Education
  • Candidates must have at least a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program, or
  • An equivalent combination of education and 5 years paralegal experience.

Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in insurance litigation or insurance defense
  • Experience supporting federal court litigation, including pleadings, discovery, and filings
  • Experience with insurance defense matters strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of legal procedures, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and court filings
  • Advanced Excel skills for tracking, reporting, and case management
  • Experience managing high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is 28.03 - 42.99 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
