The overall objective of this role is to facilitate the clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in resolving complex issues, guiding junior staff, and driving process improvements within the department. This role provides an opportunity to apply in-depth expertise in a critical operations function, contribute to key process enhancements, and further develop a career within a global financial services leader. Key ResponsibilitiesThe role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:1. Complex Transaction & Exception Management: Fulfill all trade operations responsibilities with a particular focus on owning complex issues through to resolution across all products supported by the team. Resolve complex process problems requiring in-depth evaluation of relevant processing procedures and industry standards. Lead on complex issues and events, focusing on monitoring swift messaging and other reports to ensure timely resolution. Resolve reconciliation breaks as assigned by the Reconciliation team, including both external (counterparty) and internal (system) discrepancies. 2. Stakeholder Engagement & Support: Serve as an analytical or procedural expert for relevant processing deliverables and initiatives, offering advanced solutions for assigned areas. Provide guidance, assistance, and training to junior staff to build team capability. Liaise with external parties, including counterparties and custodians, to ensure timely settlement and resolve escalated issues. Assist managers in identifying needs for and implementing procedural changes, and assist in general business-as-usual (BAU) administration. 3. Process Improvement & Control: Ensure all processes adhere to audit and control policies; provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) expertise to ensure all team desktop manuals are completed and maintained. Work with internal and external parties on process improvements and ensure adherence to best market practices. Set up and refine processes for new clients as part of the onboarding lifecycle. Ensure all issues or potential issues that could have a negative impact on the department are escalated appropriately and in a timely manner. Qualifications:5-8 years of relevant experience in Financial Services, Operations, or a related field.In-depth understanding of securities processing, trade lifecycle, and relevant industry standards. Strong familiarity with audit and control policies within a financial services environment. Demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems through in-depth evaluation and analysis. Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to guide, train, and assist junior team members. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
