About Luminary

Luminary powers how advisors connect their client’s financial assets with generational gifting and philanthropic giving goals.

Some $90 trillion will pass between generations in the decades ahead – and high net worth asset owners say they want their advisors to lead them through this process. However, more than 70% of these clients feel there is a large gap between the services they expect and what they are receiving.

At the heart of this disconnect is the lack of integrated technology systems – making delivery of wealth transfer advice and services costly and cumbersome. Luminary’s collaboration platform brings together wealth, legal, and tax advisors to help them deliver a delightful end to end experience to their clients.

Luminary was founded in 2022 and count many of the largest wealth managers, law firms, accounting firms and trust companies in the country as customers. We are backed by leading venture capital investors, prominent wealth management firms, and several family offices.

The Opportunity

The Applied AI Lead sits at the center of how our customers experience AI. This is a highly cross-functional role spanning product, engineering, sales, and customer success, focused on ensuring our AI capabilities deliver meaningful value in the context of each firm's unique workflows and decision-making processes. Rather than building generic AI experiences, you'll work directly with customers to understand how they practice, translate those insights into tailored AI implementations, and continuously improve output quality through evaluation and iteration. You'll partner with prospects during the sales process, own firm-specific implementations after the sale, and help define the best practices that shape how AI is adopted across our customer base.

What you'll do

  • Own the end-to-end implementation of Luminary AI for each customer through prompt engineering and orchestration, translating how a firm practices into AI experiences that feel purpose-built for their workflows

  • Design and configure firm-specific AI outputs (e.g. document summaries, client memos, trust recommendations, insights, and other AI-powered workflows) to reflect each firm's preferences and standards

  • Define and own owning reusable prompt libraries, configuration templates, and implementation patterns.

  • Partner with customers to understand how they make trust and estate planning decisions, uncovering opportunities to improve AI quality, adoption, and workflow efficiency

  • Build and own the AI quality system, including evaluation datasets, automated evals, success metrics, and continuous monitoring to ensure outputs improve over time

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to turn customer learnings into reusable platform capabilities rather than one-off customizations

  • Support the sales process by demonstrating AI capabilities, communicating the value of firm-specific customization, and helping prospects envision how AI will fit into their practice

  • Lead post-sale implementation and iteration, serving as the primary owner of AI configuration, experimentation, and ongoing optimization

  • Develop implementation playbooks and best practices that scale AI adoption across our customer base

Qualities we'd be excited to see in an applicant:

  • Experience with prompt engineering and orchestration, with a strong intuition for what makes AI genuinely useful in production

  • Comfort working directly with customers, asking thoughtful questions, and translating ambiguous workflow needs into concrete product or implementation decisions

  • Strong technical fluency, including experience writing prompts, building evals, working with LLM APIs, tool calling, agent workflows, or other modern AI development patterns

  • Experience measuring AI quality through evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, or other systematic approaches—not just intuition

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both executives and practitioners, with experience supporting enterprise sales cycles or customer implementations

  • A product mindset—you naturally identify patterns across customers and think about how individual requests should evolve into scalable product capabilities

  • Financial services literacy and a genuine curiosity to go deep into the domain of wealth transfer and trust & estate planning

  • Excellent written communication skills, with an eye for producing polished, client-facing AI outputs

  • A builder's mentality—you enjoy experimenting, iterating quickly, and continuously improving both the product and the process

Why you’ll love working here…

  • You’ll have a rare opportunity to work alongside our CPO, CEO and CTO and learn from industry and tech leaders with decades of experience who have built and run multiple billion dollar+ companies

  • You’ll be a part of a small and nimble team where your work has measurable impact to the business’s success

  • You're excited to assume a critical role in building foundational product that will define the future of our business

  • You enjoy a fast-paced environment where we’re constantly shipping new product, and learning from customers and prospects

We earnestly believe that Luminary represents a one-of-a-kind opportunity to have massive impact at profitable scale —and to have a ton of fun along the way.
