The Assistant Controller (d/f/m) plays a key role in strengthening Leica Microsystems’ global financial compliance and controlling framework. The position oversees all financial compliance and internal control topics (including SOX), driving excellence across the full lifecycle—from planning and risk assessment to issue resolution and continuous process optimization.
This position reports to the Global Controller, is part of the Corporate Finance team, and is designed as an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Strengthen Leica´s comprehensive compliance framework that enables the organization to meet all corporate, statutory, legal and regulatory requirements
Monitor the monthly closing of Leica group results including financial reporting and analysis
Support the digital transformation and automation for finance (e.g. utilization of smart robots and AI routines)
Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits as well as own our comprehensive balance sheet review program
Business partner with our finance leaders and regional controllers globally to provide accounting insights for informed decision making
The essential requirements of the job include:
University's degree in Economics or Finance and preferably additional qualification as Certified Tax Advisor, Chartered Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor
Strong years of progressive accounting/controllership or audit experience, preferably in a multinational company environment and/or international audit firm (Big Four)
Expert command of US GAAP, statutory regulations, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance with a high-level capability in ERPs and reporting platforms (e.g., SAP, Blackline, OneStream) and BI tools, alongside advanced Excel.
Team player, process oriented and hands-on
Fluency in English, written and spoken, is a must
Travel Requirements:
Ability to travel – up to 20% globally to spend time at Gemba

The annual salary range OR the hourly range for this role is 187.000,00 BRL to 387.000,00 BRL. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
