As Raytheon is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to serve as a Teaming & Transitions (TnT) Lead for small business technical partnerships within the Technology Director Organization of Raytheon Engineering. The TnT Lead will help shape small business tech development, foster external partnerships with small businesses, and ensure successful integration of new technology capabilities from small business partners across Raytheon and broader RTX entities.
What You Will Do
Scout and develop high impact external technologies by forging strategic collaborations with startups, incubators, universities, small businesses, and emerging commercial partners.
Support internal teams by coordinating SBIR/STTR and startup tech engagement efforts across IRAD, Tech Area Lead (TAL) Portfolios, Advanced Technologies, and all strategic business units to shape high‑value R&D opportunities.
Partner with small business tech teams to execute systems engineering across the entire lifecycle, from concept development to sustainment.
Lead execution of technical planning, requirements analysis, integration, and V&V while performing architectural exploration and trade studies to evaluate design alternatives and technology options.
Build strong connections with external dual use and commercial small business partners as well as internal Raytheon experts in the Tech Area Portfolios and across Raytheon and RTX technology research organizations, including RTX Technology Research Center (RTRC) and BBN.
Independently engage with internal teams and external partners while upholding Raytheon values, professionalism, and conduct.
What You Will Learn
Learn to integrate small business tech development efforts across programs and tech stakeholders to help transition viable partner technologies into Raytheon products.
Build skills in translating mission needs into requirements and verification plans that ensure compliant, mission ready systems come from our small business partners.
Develop positive communication pathways across program, contractor, and government teams and guide them on operational policies, procedures, and practices related to small business technology integration.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Experience with systems engineering and integration.
Must be willing an able to travel 25% of the time
Experience with project and/or program management

Qualifications We Prefer
Knowledge of cross site and enterprise level planning and implementation practices.
Systems engineering practices regarding installation, test, verification and validation experience.
Experience in strategic teaming, technology scouting, innovation processes, or early-stage R&D is preferred.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
