The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to our clients in the MENA region, throughout the entire sales lifecycle. As a Sales Engineer, you are responsible for technical ownership of client relationships from initial contact in the sales cycle throughout the solutioning, integration, and go-live stages of the customer journey. The ability to solve business and technical requirements through the application of Checkout.com products and solutions is core to the success of the position. Along the way, you'll collaborate closely with various in-house talents across Technology and Business to position our capabilities, products, services and solutions effectively with prospects.What you will do:Upfront qualifications of merchants technical needsWork with Sales to provide product/business/tech knowledge in support of pre-sales activitiesPrepare and lead technical/commercial workshopsProvide inputs for proposals and large and complex RFP and RFI responsesImprove solution design, documentation and realisation of custom merchant solutionsImprove communication with merchants on a technical level during the sales processTranslate product, business and technical requirements into solutionsBeing constantly up to date with industry standards in order to offer the best bespoke solutions to our merchantsConduct thorough upfront qualification of merchant needs and technical infrastructure.Act as the primary technical subject matter expert, supporting the Sales team through all pre-sales phases.Design, prepare, and lead technical and commercial workshops for prospective merchants.Provide critical technical and solution design inputs for high-value proposals and RFP/RFI responses.Drive the improvement of solution design quality and documentation for complex solutions.Significantly improve the quality and clarity of technical communication with merchants.Expertly translate requirements into concrete, viable, and efficient solution designs.Maintain deep industry expertise to design best-in-class, bespoke solutions.Qualifications8+ years experience as a Sales Engineer / Solutions Architect or Pre-Sales ConsultantExperience working in a technical client-facing roleFamiliar with API based integration methods, associated best practices, and related tools/frameworksExperience with at least one common front-end (pure JavaScript, React, Angular, etc) and back-end (Java, .NET, Python, Node, etc) technologyCommercially-mindedExceptional written and verbal communication skillsHighly organized and able to prioritize shifting workloads and responsibilities effectivelyAble to thrive in a fast-paced environmentAbility to translate technical jargon into business speakPrevious exposure to RFI/RFPVery well-versed in payments; should understand the technicalities inside and out...
