Job Summary
The Consumer Bank Product Segment Manager leads a team responsible for the strategy, development, and performance of consumer banking products. This role is pivotal in driving profitability while maintaining a moderate risk profile. The Manager leverages market research, data analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver innovative, client-focused solutions. This position partners closely with analytics, underwriting, technology, and marketing teams to ensure products and services align with client needs and business objectives.

Essential Functions

  • Lead a team in the design, development, and management of consumer banking products and services.
  • Oversee product acquisition strategies, credit decisioning processes, and portfolio performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance product offerings and service delivery.
  • Utilize industry research, competitive intelligence, and data insights to identify and target profitable client segments.
  • Identify and resolve product and system inefficiencies that impact client acquisition and relationship deepening.
  • Manage vendor relationships to support product delivery and innovation.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to achieve performance goals and foster professional growth.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. (preferred)
  • OR equivalent experience (required)


Work Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in financial services or a comparable industry. (required)
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in product management, community development, marketing, or communications, with a strong emphasis on compliance and risk management. (preferred)


Licenses and Certifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) - PMI (preferred)

  • Defining the long-term vision and roadmap for products, aligning them with organizational goals, market trends, and customer demands.
  • Overseeing the entire product lifecycle—from ideation and development to launch and ongoing optimization—to ensure products meet customer needs and business objectives.
  • Prioritizing the needs, behaviors, and feedback of customers to guide product decisions and deliver exceptional user experiences.
  • Demonstrating a strong understanding of banking operations, financial principles, and market dynamics to make informed product decisions.
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating regulatory, operational, and financial risks throughout the product lifecycle, in alignment with the bank’s risk framework.
  • Analyzing complex challenges and developing effective, data-driven solutions that enhance product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Applying logical reasoning and analytical skills to evaluate product performance, assess trade-offs, and support sound decision-making.
  • Managing a suite of products by prioritizing investments, balancing risk and return, and aligning with strategic goals.
  • Driving continuous improvement and introducing new ideas to enhance product offerings, customer value, and competitive advantage.
  • Ensuring that product features, services, and enhancements are closely aligned with evolving customer expectations and behaviors.
  • Streamlining processes, reducing waste, and improving workflows to enhance product delivery, scalability, and profitability.
  • Collaborating with marketing teams to position products effectively, develop go-to-market strategies, and support customer acquisition and engagement.
  • Applying financial modeling, pricing strategies, and profitability analysis to support sound product decisions and business outcomes.
  • Communicating product vision, strategy, and value propositions clearly and persuasively to stakeholders, customers, and cross-functional teams

Physical Demands

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $116,000.00 - $216,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
