Overview
This position will support a mission-focused customer throughout the full life-cycle development, integration, operation, and sustainment of a Radio Frequency Processing System.
The Senior Systems Engineer will support RF system architecture, dataflow management, system design, production monitoring, technical documentation, and stakeholder coordination. The ideal candidate will have experience with RF systems, analog-to-digital conversion processes, Apache NiFi, network and dataflow diagrams, system security documentation, and Agile collaboration tools.
This role is based in Fort Meade, Maryland.

Responsibilities
- Apply systems engineering principles throughout the system development life cycle, including requirements analysis, system design, integration, verification, validation, deployment, operations, and sustainment.
- Support Radio Frequency systems and associated analog-to-digital dataflow and conversion processes.
- Access and monitor production Apache NiFi environments to ensure inbound data is operational and flowing correctly.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve dataflow errors, processing issues, and system backlogs.
- Assist customers with data-formatting issues and coordinate technical resolutions with appropriate engineering teams.
- Develop preliminary system designs and clearly communicate system architecture, capabilities, limitations, and technical considerations to stakeholders.
- Create dataflow diagrams documenting the network connections, interfaces, dependencies, and services required for system functionality.
- Create and update engineering drawings, RF antenna drawings, network diagrams, and other technical documentation.
- Coordinate the collection and delivery of data samples required for engineering analysis, integration, testing, or troubleshooting.
- Prepare, submit, track, and maintain Data Management Requests and Data Change Requests.
- Coordinate requests to add Internet Protocol addresses and other system components to applicable System Security Plans.
- Work with cybersecurity, network, software, RF, and systems engineering personnel to ensure system changes comply with security and operational requirements.
- Analyze production dataflows to verify data completeness, availability, quality, timeliness, and proper routing.
- Troubleshoot system, network, interface, and data-ingestion issues affecting mission operations.
- Develop and maintain system requirements, interface documentation, technical procedures, engineering artifacts, and operational documentation.
- Use Confluence and Jira to document engineering activities, communicate technical information, manage tasks, and track issues through resolution.
- Participate in technical exchange meetings, design reviews, integration activities, risk assessments, and customer briefings.
- Communicate technical risks, dependencies, issues, and recommendations to Government customers, program leadership, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure the technical integrity, quality, accuracy, and completeness of assigned engineering deliverables.
Qualifications
- US Citizen with TS/SCI with Poly required
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Five years of additional systems engineering experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of 14 of systems engineering experience supporting programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Experience supporting Radio Frequency systems.
- Understanding of analog-to-digital dataflows and conversion processes.
- Experience accessing, monitoring, or troubleshooting production Apache NiFi environments.
- Experience identifying and resolving dataflow backlogs, processing errors, and data-formatting issues.
- Experience preparing or coordinating Data Management Requests and Data Change Requests.
- Experience developing preliminary system designs and communicating technical concepts to stakeholders.

- Experience documenting network connections and technical interfaces required for system functionality.
- Experience coordinating data samples for testing, analysis, system integration, or troubleshooting.
- Experience requesting that IP addresses or system components be incorporated into System Security Plans.
- Experience using Jira and Confluence for engineering documentation, task management, issue tracking, and team communication.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, technical writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Government customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Certification Requirement
- An active Information Assurance Technical Level II certification that complies with DoD 8570 or current DoD Cyber Workforce requirements is required.
- Acceptable certifications may include Security+ CE or another approved IAT Level II certification.
