About the Role

The Team Lead, Cases SEA is responsible for leading and managing the Southeast Asia Cases team to ensure high-quality, timely, AI-ready, and commercially valuable legal content delivery across LexisNexis platforms and products. This role provides operational leadership, people management, workflow oversight, and strategic coordination across the regional Case Law portfolio. The Team Lead drives execution excellence by managing editorial operations, allocating resources, overseeing deliverables, improving workflows, and supporting transformation initiatives aligned with evolving legal technology and AI-enabled legal research capabilities. The role acts as a key operational bridge between Editorial Operations, Product, Technology, Commercial, and senior management teams to ensure content operations are scalable, customer-centric, efficient, and aligned with business priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Allocate and delegate work effectively across the team based on priorities, capacity, and business needs.
  • Monitor team productivity, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
  • Support onboarding, training, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Manage team escalations, conflict resolution, and operational support needs.
  • Oversee end-to-end editorial operations and publication delivery across SEA jurisdictions and case law products.
  • Ensure publication schedules, operational SLAs, and quality standards are consistently achieved.
  • Track deliverables, manage workflow pipelines, and proactively identify delivery risks or bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate operational priorities and ensure effective resource utilization.
  • Provide operational visibility, reporting, and updates to management.
  • Ensure governance, documentation, and operational tracking standards are maintained.
  • Support implementation of AI-ready editorial and content operational practices.
  • Drive awareness and adoption of evolving legal technology, AI-assisted workflows, and digital publishing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Product, Technology, and Data teams on workflow modernization and intelligent content initiatives.
  • Ensure structured content, metadata quality, and operational processes support downstream AI and legal research products.
  • Encourage innovation and continuous learning within the team.
  • Source, analyse, edit, and validate legal case law content and related materials.
  • Monitor legal developments, judicial trends, and emerging legal issues across SEA jurisdictions.
  • Ensure editorial accuracy, legal integrity, timeliness, and consistency of assigned products.
  • Conduct legal research and legal analysis to support content development and editorial decisions.
  • Contribute editorial insights that improve customer legal research experience and legal analytics value.
  • Ensure legal content is optimized for digital research platforms and AI-assisted legal solutions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency, scalability, quality, and turnaround times.
  • Lead workflow optimization and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Support automation opportunities and continuous improvement programs.
  • Participate in strategic transformation and operational modernization initiatives.
  • Develop operational best practices and drive consistency across the SEA team.
  • Support product enhancements, content expansion initiatives, and competitor benchmarking activities.
  • Monitor legal publishing and legal research trends impacting editorial operations.
  • Provide operational input into customer-centric product development and content strategy discussions.
  • Ensure operational readiness for new products, features, or workflow changes.
  • Build strong working relationships with Editorial, Product, Technology, Commercial, and Operations teams.
  • Support customer-facing teams with legal content and product-related queries.
  • Representing Case Laws content and team as required by local business partners internally and externally.
  • Manage relationships with authors, contributors, licensors, and vendors.
  • Collaborate across regional and global teams on editorial and strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in global operational and transformation projects where required.

Qualifications:

  • LLB or equivalent legal qualification required.
  • Additional certification or exposure to legal technology, AI, publishing, or project management is advantageous.
  • Significant experience in legal publishing, legal editorial operations, legal research, or legal content management
  • Experience leading or mentoring teams preferred
  • Experience managing operational workflows, deadlines, and stakeholder coordination
  • Exposure to digital publishing, legal technology, AI-assisted workflows, or content operations transformation initiatives preferred.
  • Experience managing vendors, operational projects, or regional portfolios is advantageous.
  • Ability to motivate teams and manage performance effectively.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
  • Ability to lead through change and operational transformation.
  • Strong accountability and ownership mindset.
  • Strong project management, prioritization, and workflow coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and operational complexities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational and operational planning capabilities.
  • Experience with Agile, operational excellence, or continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Strong legal research and legal analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of case law developments and legal systems within SEA jurisdictions.
  • Superior reading comprehension and editorial judgment.
  • Ability to identify legal trends, emerging issues, and customer research needs.
  • High attention to detail and editorial accuracy.
  • Awareness of AI/GenAI developments in legal research and publishing.
  • Understanding of AI-ready content principles, metadata quality, structured legal content and workflow automation.
  • Adaptability to evolving legal technology and AI-assisted editorial environments.
  • Familiarity with legal research platforms, content management systems, and digital publishing tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with leadership, stakeholders, vendors, and team members.
  • Strong presentation and reporting capabilities.
  • Proficient in English and Malay (written and spoken). Additional regional language capability is advantageous.
