What is the opportunity?

Reports to the Senior Director, Business Deposits, within Commercial Banking.  In this role, you will grow and manage P&L products related to Cash and Operating Services.  You will have exposure to all aspects of product management life cycle, with a strategic lens to develop and enhance to ensure a competitive portfolio, including vendor management. You will have the opportunity to lead cross-functional teams with stakeholders (Relationship teams, product partners, Operations, Technology, Functions) with a positive impact to client experience for both domestic and global business clients.  You will be responsible for strategies to grow P&L by enhancing the competitiveness of cash products as well as commercialization of new product builds. This role will look to the future of cash and how to ensure we are best positioned in market to leverage digitization and service our clients as a leader in the deposit space.

 What will you do?

  • Responsible for end-to-end product management of the following product suite:      

    • Night and Day Service

    • Deposit slip products (NDDS, NDDS3, ADN (new))

    • Debit Block and Debit Block Plus

    • Cash ordering and cash deposits

    • Operating Services: Third Party Demands, Trade Enquiries, Safe Deposit Box

  • This includes strategic review of products to ensure they remain competitive in market, priced to optimize client vs. shareholder interest,  specifically:

    • Responsible for product strategy, pricing, client acquisition and overall profitability

    • Work closely with Risk, Law Group, AML partners (including US AML team) in managing portfolio ensuring alignment of procedures, communications and execution.

    • Develop, implement and maintain product/product portfolio strategies and tactics to ensure product continue to offer strong value propositions to all our business client segments (based on in-depth understanding of client needs and processes) abiding by risk and regulation.

    • Collaborate with Cash Operations, Physical Networks, Marketing and Business Enablement to ensure alignment with distribution and operations strategy and workforce capacity

    • Ensure risk assessments (RTAs) are documented and updated as per the required schedule and that adequate control measures are implemented and maintained throughout products’ life cycle. Understand not only the risks associated with your product but also the risk mitigants and how they impact the risk rating of your products

    • Ensure effective management of product through its lifecycle to capture its full business, market and profitability potential

  • Responsible for representing Commercial Banking in identifying and business casing transformational initiatives that touch operating services primarily in the cheque & cash deposit domain. This includes forward-looking strategies to digitize deposit slips, enhancing scoring to offer new products (e.g. provisional credit) and overall product enhancements to support productivity.

  • Mitigate fraud risk through application of holds and limits and better controls while balancing client experience

  • Responsible for the overall strategic approach to transaction and channel migration for respective product suite including understanding and strategically accelerating the migration of transactions to electronic alternatives, leveraging digital channels.

  • Will be the domain expert for the business and define the future for on cash payments centered on the customer experience and driven by operational simplicity and cost-efficiency.

  • Work with internal groups and external providers to lower error rates, improve service levels and increase reliability to continually improve Client Satisfaction levels

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • University degree (MBA an asset)

  • Risk Management experience and/or ability to critically evaluate risk vs. reward is an asset

  • Challenges status quo, communicates a compelling case for change, clearly articulates the benefits of moving forward

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholder expectations and priorities while making strategic trade-offs aligned with business goals and objectives

  • Global mindset and awareness

  • Robust analytical skills and a solid understanding of effective process management

  • Ability to work effectively with executive and senior management across several different business platforms.

Nice to have:

  • Product management – demonstrating an ability to lead and drive change

  • Business Operations – bringing a strong knowledge of the business products in the mandate in particular cash operations and payments
