Position Summary
The Actuarial Senior Manager is responsible for collaborating with peers and matrix partners to develop insights into Aetna’s prescription benefits businesses. The role partners with actuarial, finance, business, and operational teams to:
- Identify and anticipate trends impacting pharmacy benefits
- Consolidate pharmacy trend projections and reporting across the Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid businesses
- Understand and explain why trend projections differ across businesses – and may differ from industry or competitor projections
- Effectively communicate emerging pharmacy claims results, forecasts, and drivers of changes in outlook
- Develop unbiased assessments of the impact of legislative, regulatory, and environmental changes on the pharmacy businesses
- Develop analytical processes to provide guidance to enterprise leadership
- Evaluate the impact of environmental factors on pharmacy claims costs and potential interactions with medical costs and patient outcomes

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of actuarial experience
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving workplace
Preferred Qualifications
- ASA or FSA desired
- Prior pharmacy knowledge or experience
- Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$130,295.00 - $260,590.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
