In this position... 

The Human Resources Coordinator will support the daily operations of our Human Resources department, focusing on hourly employee lifecycle management, wage and benefit administration, and compliance. Working closely with HR, Operations leadership, and Union Representation, you will ensure data integrity across our HR systems, administer company policies and collective bargaining agreements, and serve as a trusted resource for employee inquiries. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with 0-3 years of HR experience who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do… 

Employee Lifecycle Management: 

  • Support hourly recruiting and new employee onboarding 

  • Administer a wide range of personnel actions such as promotions, internal transfers/movements 

  • Provide comprehensive support for various employee leaves of absence, including medical, FMLA, and other extended leaves, coordinating with employees and external benefit administrators. 

  • Manage employee reinstatements following leaves or other absences, ensuring all necessary records and system access are updated. 

  • Manage employee departures, including retirements and other separations, and administer processes related to staffing level adjustments such as layoffs 

  • Utilize HR data to conduct audits, process unemployment documentation, and resolve related inquiries. 

  • Coordinate internal employee movements and job postings. Administer position management changes. 

  • Facilitate external employee transfers from plant to plant, ensuring accurate transfer of personnel records, including disciplinary and attendance histories, and processing relocation assistance. 

  • Coordinate vacation shutdown activities, working in partnership with operations for workforce planning requirements and vacation pay administration. 

     

Wage Administration Support: 

  • Administer wage changes, including processing apprentice wage adjustments and conducting regular wage and position management audits. 

  • Pay discrepancy in accordance with contractual agreements. 

  • Process payments for short-term leaves (e.g., bereavement, jury duty, military leave) and manage grievance-related payouts. 

  • Support the administration of profit-sharing and other bonus programs, including eligibility verification. 

  • Administer holiday pay and holiday conversion processes. 

     

Compliance, Record-Keeping, and Reporting: 

  • Ensure adherence to all relevant labor laws, company policies and collective bargaining agreements. 

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records. 

  • Conduct various compliance with internal controls 

  • Identify and resolve data discrepancies across HR systems to ensure accurate employee reporting. 

  • Manage HR record retention processes in compliance with company policy. 

     

HR Operations and Administrative Support: 

  • Collaborate with HR and Operations leadership to execute workforce planning strategies that meet production demands. 

  • Assist with system access and security audits. 

  • Actively participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at process improvement and enhancing the overall employee experience.

You’ll Have… 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered. 

  • Experience: 0-3 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing environment. 

  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations, including relevant policies and collective bargaining agreements as applicable  

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills 

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with keen attention to detail and accuracy. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. 

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.

This position is a salary grade 5 and ranges from $65,100-$109,300.     

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
