Systems Engineering Manager (Systems Engineering Management)

The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to drive Systems Engineering, Certification and Security engineering development across multiple E-7 programs in Tukwila, WA or Oklahoma, OK.
We are expanding our portfolio and are looking for a leader capable of integrating across all engineering disciplines with timely decision making, sound judgement, innovation and leadership.
The E-7 is the world’s most advanced, capable and reliable Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) platform, having proven itself in operations around the world. The aircraft is designed to track multiple airborne and maritime targets simultaneously. It can provide situational awareness and direct other assets such as fighter jets and warships. This position will work across multiple E-7A programs supporting development of new capabilities for the E-7A program.
A successful candidate will have a strong technical foundation, be capable of adapting to a quick-paced and dynamic environment. Successful candidates are highly motivated and exhibit strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and effectively with external customers and subcontractors in a multi-site and multi-discipline program and environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering development through sound systems engineering approaches and processes
- Integrating across engineering disciplines, identifying gaps, and filling those gaps with initiative
- Work closely with customers through working groups to successfully drive completion of work.
- Rely on the experiences and skills of senior engineers, while also mentoring early career employees
- Own and manage execution the SEIT Statement of Work for the E-7 program including CDRL deliverables, requirements development, architecture development, and system design
- Actively partner with program leadership to ensure program objectives are accomplished
- Manage cost and schedule execution and hand-offs between the customer and other teams
- Actively manage risk, issues, and opportunities through program processes.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Must hold an Active U.S Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 5+ years of experience leading and partnering with cross-functional teams, involving key stakeholder relationship management.
- 5+ years of experience applying engineering principles during the development of complex hardware/software solutions on an aerospace platform.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience working within a fast-paced team environment, which required strong communication skills to frequently interact with leadership or internal and external customer representatives.
- 5+ years of experience applying systems engineering principles during the development of complex hardware/software aerospace solutions, including system engineering, design, integration, verification, and test.
- Experience working within fast-paced team environments requiring strong communication skills to frequently interact with leadership, internal teams, customers, and external representatives, with the ability to communicate effectively at all management levels.
- Experience with schedule and budget management, integration of logistics, customer communication, program planning execution to meet cost, schedule, and technical baseline requirements, and program start-up activities including proposals.
- Experience in evaluating complex systems, analysis methods, conducting multi-disciplinary trade studies, system architecture development, and modeling using tools such as CAMEO/MSOSA and Rhapsody.
- Detailed technical knowledge and experience in military aircraft modification programs, systems, and subsystems, including engineering of large-scale systems and overall systems engineering disciplines.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience leading, mentoring, and engaging individuals and teams, providing active mentorship and career guidance, building a safe environment of inclusion, transparency, and trust, and gaining trust to influence positive outcomes.
- Experience developing and implementing strategic plans.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
