Company Overview

Ambiq is on a mission to enable intelligence everywhere — powering the AI edge revolution with the world's lowest-power semiconductor solutions.

Built on our proprietary sub- and near-threshold technology, our chips deliver multi-fold improvements in energy efficiency without costly process scaling. Since 2010, we've shipped over 300 million units to customers building smarter wearables, medical devices, IoT products, and AI-powered edge applications.

Our cross-functional teams span design, research, development, production, marketing, sales, and operations across Austin, Hsinchu, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Singapore. We move fast, tackle hard problems, and create space for people to grow through complex, meaningful work that shapes the future of technology.

We're looking for self-motivated, creative problem-solvers who are eager to push technological limits and make a real impact in energy efficiency.

At Ambiq, we live by five values: Innovate. Collaborate. Focus. Learn. Achieve.

If that's you, join us — the intelligence everywhere revolution starts here.

Scope

We are seeking an experienced Staff Validation Engineer to join our Taiwan Validation Team and provide technical leadership in validating Ambiq's next-generation ultra-low-power MCU and SoC products.

In this role, you will lead validation strategy for complex silicon subsystems from first silicon through production. You will define validation methodologies, develop automation frameworks, execute silicon characterization, perform complex system debug, and collaborate closely with Architecture, Design, Verification, Firmware, Product Engineering, and ATE teams to improve product quality, manufacturability, and customer success.

As a senior technical individual contributor, you will mentor engineers, establish validation best practices, and help drive continuous improvements to Ambiq's global validation methodology and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead validation planning, methodologies, and test coverage for complex SoC subsystems and product features.
  • Develop and execute post-silicon validation, characterization, PVT testing, margin analysis, shmoo testing, and production test correlation.
  • Design and develop embedded firmware, validation software, automation frameworks, reusable test infrastructure, and data analysis tools.
  • Define functional and system-level regression test suites supporting product qualification and production readiness.
  • Lead root cause analysis of silicon issues, customer escalations, production issues, and RMA investigations.
  • Design and improve validation hardware, laboratory infrastructure, and automated validation environments.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Design, Verification, Firmware, Product Engineering, Applications Engineering, and ATE teams to improve product robustness, yield, and validation efficiency.
  • Mentor validation engineers and provide technical leadership on validation methodologies, automation, and debug techniques.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in post-silicon validation, silicon bring-up, embedded firmware, or SoC development.
  • Strong experience validating ARM-based MCU or SoC devices, including digital, analog, power management, memory, peripheral interfaces, and mixed-signal subsystems.
  • Experience developing embedded C/C++ firmware and validation automation using Python, Tcl, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, current measurement equipment, environmental chambers, and automated laboratory instrumentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex silicon debug efforts and drive technical issues to closure.
  • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating across geographically distributed engineering teams.
  • Experience with ultra-low-power SoCs, AI-enabled edge devices, or wireless embedded systems.
  • Experience with Bluetooth® Low Energy, Bluetooth Classic, and other wireless technologies.
  • Experience with production test correlation, characterization, yield improvement, and statistical data analysis.
  • Experience developing reusable validation frameworks and workflows.
  • Experience supporting customer issue investigations, RMA analysis, and cross-functional silicon debug.
  • Experience with FPGA validation platforms, Linux development environments, Git, and hardware-assisted debug environments
