Accountabilities
- Develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory through proactive prospecting and relationship building.
- Manage and grow an existing portfolio of customer accounts by conducting regular meetings, business reviews, and ongoing client engagement.
- Create and execute territory sales strategies focused on revenue growth, customer retention, and profitability.
- Prepare and support pricing discussions, proposals, bids, and contract negotiations to meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams across sales, customer service, operations, and pricing to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities and support sales planning.
- Maintain accurate account management practices while representing the organization professionally during customer interactions and industry events.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with internal policies, procedures, and applicable industry regulations.
- Minimum of 4 years of sales experience in ocean transportation, freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, or a related transportation industry.
- Previous experience in outside sales, territory management, or account management is preferred.
- Must reside in or near the New York City metropolitan/tristate area.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% within the assigned territory.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Strong business development, customer relationship management, and consultative sales skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote, field-based sales environment.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multiple internal teams.
- Remote position for candidates residing in or near the New York City tristate area.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $100,000 to $105,000.
