In this position...
Ford Motor Company Supply Chain is seeking a high motivated and results-driven leader to shape and define a newly created role with enterprise-wide impact. As the IPTS Resiliency Manager, you will strengthen the powertrain and powertrain installation supply chain by identifying critical risks and single points of failure (SPOFs), developing mitigation strategies, and driving continuous improvements in resiliency. Working across IPTS Purchasing, you'll align leaders around shared priorities, turning strategy into coordinated action that builds a stronger, more agile supply chain. This is a unique opportunity for a self-starter to build processes and influence cross-functional teams.
This is more than a management role—it's an opportunity to establish the standards that will shape how supply chain resiliency is managed across IPTS and Ford for years to come.
What you'll do...
* Risk Mapping & SPOF Identification: Conduct systematic supply chain risk assessments across the powertrain and powertrain installation network to identify single-source suppliers, geographic concentration risks, tooling bottlenecks, and other critical vulnerabilities.
* Risk Management & Resiliency: Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring continuity of supply and building resilient supplier networks. This involves monitoring supplier financial health and utilizing SRM (Supply Risk Management) tools to proactively identify and avoid future supply disruption.
* Mitigation Strategy Development: Design and implement risk-mitigation plans (dual-sourcing, safety stock strategies, alternate tooling, supplier qualification pipelines) to eliminate or reduce the impact of identified risks.
* IPTS Purchasing Leader Alignment & Commonality: Drive consistency and shared standards across IPTS Purchasing leaders by establishing common resiliency frameworks, tools, and decision criteria, ensuring coordinated action rather than fragmented, siloed responses to risk.
* Cross-Functional Risk Governance: Partner with Purchasing and Product Development to embed resiliency criteria into sourcing decisions, program launches, and supplier selection processes.
* Scenario Planning & Stress Testing: Lead tabletop exercises and disruption simulations (natural disasters, geopolitical events, logistics failures) to validate contingency plans and continuously refine response playbooks.
* Corporate Resiliency Strategy Alignment: Translate enterprise-level supply chain resiliency objectives into actionable, IPTS-specific initiatives, ensuring consistency with broader corporate risk management frameworks.
* Executive Reporting & Escalation: Develop dashboards and reporting cadences that provide leadership with visibility into risk exposure, mitigation progress, and resiliency KPIs, escalating critical issues to IPTS Purchasing leadership as needed to drive timely action.
You'll have...
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field
* 7+ years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, procurement, or supplier risk/quality management, ideally within automotive or another complex manufacturing environment
* Demonstrated experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating supply chain risks, including single/sole-source exposure
* Strong track record of influencing cross-functional and senior stakeholders without direct authority
* Proven ability to build frameworks, processes, or programs from the ground up in ambiguous or undefined environments
* Highly proficient in digitalization and driving adoption of new systems, processes and technologies
* Excellent analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to translate complex risk data into clear action plans
* Strong communication and executive presentation skills, with experience preparing reporting for senior leadership
Even better, you may have...
* Advanced degree (MBA or related) a plus, though not required
* Experience specifically within powertrain, chassis, or complex automotive component supply chains
* Project management or change management certification (e.g., PMP, Prosci, Six Sigma)
* Experience leading scenario planning, business continuity, or disaster recovery exercises within a supply chain context
* Experience in geopolitical or macroeconomic risk analysis as it pertains to global supply networks
