How you create impact
The Sea Logistics Operational Care Specialist, Revenue Care is responsible for the day-to-day management of forwarding subledger (FSL) activities, ensuring Gross Profit (GP) opportunities are maximized. A key responsibility of the role is the timely identification, investigation, and resolution of financial discrepancies. Performance is measured through established KPIs, which serve as the primary indicators of success. Conducting root cause analyses and partnering with key stakeholders to implement effective corrective actions are critical components of the position. Success in this role relies heavily on strong collaboration, proactive communication, and the ability to build productive cross-functional relationships.- Manage daily FSL activities with the objective of achieving zero deferrals at month-end.
- Actively review and manage all open files, with a strong focus on maximizing Gross Profit (GP).
- Investigate and resolve all excessive profit and loss exceptions, escalating recurring issues or trends to the Branch Manager and/or Business Unit Controller as appropriate.
- Identify and correct inaccurate accruals, ensuring future accruals are entered correctly while reviewing historical entries to prevent duplicate or erroneous postings.
- Enter missing accruals within FSL as required to ensure files accurately reflect their financial position.
- Conduct root cause analyses on GP discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve automated FSL closure performance.
- Collaborate closely with operational and financial stakeholders to achieve GP targets and drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of FSL KPIs and consistently apply focused, measurable efforts to meet or exceed performance expectations across all metrics.
- Support additional projects, initiatives, and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.
What we would like you to bring
- 3+ years of experience in a finance, accounting, transportation finance, or freight forwarding operations role with significant financial responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, including profit and loss statements, cost analysis, financial reconciliation, and invoice validation.
- Experience reviewing vendor invoices, verifying costs, identifying discrepancies, resolving variances, and supporting accurate financial file closure.
- Experience in freight forwarding and supply chain management required, preferably with exposure to Sea Logistics.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding operations, transportation processes, logistics services, systems, and industry regulations.
- Experience working with financial systems and reports within a Windows-based environment.
- Strong analytical and numerical aptitude with the ability to interpret financial and operational data, identify gaps, and make sound business decisions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across operations and finance teams.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and dental benefits, a retirement savings plan, and tuition reimbursement. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
