In the role of Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting with the financial decision support for multiple client segments within the Commercial Bank. In this role covering all areas of financial forecasting, planning and analysis, you’ll develop solutions to complex business issues, collaborate with stakeholders across the Citizens franchise and work closely with executive leadership of the business.  You will serve as a key partner to finance managers and executive leadership by highlighting key financial trends and linking them to the underlying drivers of performance, connecting the impact of external market trends on business performance and telling the financial story of the business. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Partner with line of business leadership to create monthly earnings forecasts that reflect the anticipated net interest margin, fee income, operating expenses and credit provisions that align with anticipated interest rate and economic scenarios. 
  • Track the key drivers of changes in the commercial loan portfolio such as re-financings, new originations, changes to line utilization rates and prepayment speeds to explain results and inform updates to the balance sheet forecast.
  • Monitor trends in market pricing, volume and sentiment and linking them back to current results and to inform forecast projections.
  • Support capital allocation decisions which achieve the proper balance between liquidity, risk, pricing and returns.  Identifying and tracking opportunities to redeploy capital is an important component of this effort by maintaining financial profiles of new credit originations as well as client exits to measure progress of redeploying capital to more attractive opportunities. 
  • Support the annual budget and strategic planning processes; including the creation of financial models and executive level presentations that document key assumptions and clearly link outcomes to the business strategy.
  • Maintain a strong control environment by completing the month-end financial close including the identification of financial issues, risks and opportunities and by synchronizing the financial impacts in monthly forecasts.

 

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline.
  • General understanding of macro-economic principles.
  • 1+ years of experience in a finance, accounting or business decision support role.
  • Solid Excel financial modeling skills.
  • Knowledge of Essbase financial reporting platform preferred.
  • Strong executive partnership and communication skills.

 

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: M-F (hybrid - 4 days in office)

 

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $73,000-$101,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to, the budget, work location, and relevant skills and experience.
