The Facilities Maintenance Technician is a mid-level position working under the supervision of the site Facilities Manager/Supervisor. Duties involve assisting in maintaining all mechanical systems as well as the general maintenance of the commercial property.
In this role you will assist in the daily maintenance scheduling and task completion of the above along with light driving duties as needed in combination with the Facilities Manager/Supervisor. You are expected to function daily with minimal supervision in performing service tasks. You are also responsible for inspecting the premises and reporting issues directly to your supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily operation and general maintenance requirements of the commercial equipment.
- Perform necessary maintenance on all mechanical systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as directed by site management and/or the Maintenance Supervisor.

Maintenance team members also participate in hospital Emergency Response Programs (ERP). These programs include:
- Fire Evacuations and Safety
- Hazmat Remediation
- Weather Emergencies (may include extended onsite coverage)

- Lighting- check all interior and exterior lighting and replace as needed. This includes all task and medical lighting fixtures.
- Plumbing - ensure all sinks and drains are clear; all faucets, toilets, etc. are in proper operating condition, including all waste water sumps, drains, and exterior drainage.
- Electrical - examine equipment for damaged electrical connections, outlets, breaker panels, and GFI faults.
- HVAC- check all HVAC systems and ensure proper temperatures are being maintained.
- Check belt wear, condensate pans, etc.
- General Conditions- inspect all areas of the building interior for cleanliness and damage and take appropriate steps to rectify.
- General Equipment - assist in equipment evaluation and repairs.
- Central Vacuum Systems - ensure system is emptied and clog-free.
- Grounds Maintenance - ensure property is clean and free of debris. Trash receptacles are available.
- Snow Removal - Assist in snow removal and deicing when needed. Should be able to safely operate snow removal equipment. Coordinate with the snow removal contractor and monitor their responsibilities.
