Associate Dosimetrist - Radiology Oncology

The dosimetrist shall perform services requiring substantial knowledge in anatomy, radiation physics, radiation biology and radiation therapy technique. The dosimetrist is an active participant in the treatment planning and is directly accountable and responsible for the quality of treatment plans generated. Duties may include, but are not limited to: treatment planning, dose calculations, troubleshooting of treatment machines and patient set-ups, CT simulation supervision, and assisting physicians (where appropriate). The dosimetrist will play an active role in the Quality Improvement program.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Actively enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program for Certified Medical Dosimetrists.    
• Within 1 year of hire: National Certified Medical Dosimetrist - Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree: Graduate of a Radiation Therapy program.
• 2 years in lieu of a Bachelors degree required to have a minimum of 2 years related Dosimetrist experience. 
• 2 years Registered Radiation Therapist prior to attending a dosimetry school.
