The CNC Manager oversees the daily operations of a manufacturing machine shop, coordinating production schedules, supervising staff, and maintaining equipment. The CNC Manager will maximize safety, quality, productivity and on time deliver in addition to optimizing workflow and troubleshooting technical issues.

This position reports to the Manager Production and is part of the Operations team located in Cortland NY and is an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Drive activities intended to achieve annual Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity targets through effective use of Danaher Business System (DBS) tools including but not limited to the efficient execution of Daily Management and KPI action plan development.
  • Provides technical oversight and oversee complex setups, program G-code (or use CAD/CAM software), and optimize machining processes ensuring all manufactured parts meet blueprint dimensions and GD&T tolerances.
  • Enforces routine preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and repair or replace worn tools.
  • Implement efficiency improvements (Lean, 5S) to maximize machine utilization and reduce waste.
  • Monitors and enforce all OSHA and internal safety protocols and compliance standards.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Experience: 5 to 10+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience, with 3+ years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of CNC lathes, mills, or multi-axis machines, including programming and troubleshooting.
  • Software Knowledge: Familiarity with CNC software (e.g., Mazatrol) and ERP systems.
  • Associates degree or technical certification in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $125,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is  the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
