Cloud Engineer, TS/SCI with Poly Job Locations US-MD-Laurel Requisition ID 2026-166485 Position Category Information Technology Clearance Top Secret/SCI w/Poly Responsibilities The Data Warehouse Platforms Engineering Shared Services & Software Development (DWSV) team is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to join a large, complex product development environment. This role focuses on supporting all aspects of agile software design and development for products deployed across large-scale compute clusters. Responsibilities include designing and building new capabilities, conducting testing, optimizing performance, and supporting ongoing operations and sustainment.As a Senior Cloud Software Engineer, you will operate with a high degree of independence across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance.Design and implement scalable solutions, including integration and extension of COTS and GOTS productsTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues while optimizing system performanceProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineersContribute to project planning by defining tasks, timelines, and technical approachesDevelop and execute test cases, create SOPs, and maintain technical documentationReview system designs for accuracy, completeness, and scalability#MDFSP Qualifications Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (e.g., Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering).Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, development, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.At least 6 years of experience developing in high-level languages such as Java, C, or C++.At least 5 years of experience working in UNIX/Linux (RedHat-based) environments.At least 3 years of experience in software integration and testing, including test plan and script development.An active TS/SCI with Poly is required.Requirements:Strong Java development experience, including distributed systems, networking, and multithreadingProficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible or PuppetExperience with CI/CD pipelines, including automated testing, deployment, and monitoringExperience working in Agile environments with modern source control practicesStrong Linux fundamentals and proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash, Ruby, or Perl)Familiarity with microservices architecture and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes)Experience with containerization technologies such as DockerHadoop or Cloud Developer certification requiredWillingness to participate in a rotating Tier III on-call scheduleAbility to support surge requirements during high-priority situationsPosition is primarily onsite at the customer location; telework is limited and situationalPreferred SkillsExperience with Apache Hadoop, Accumulo, and NiFiFamiliarity with MongoDB and messaging systems (e.g., ActiveMQ)Experience with Spring Framework, Python, and Bash scriptingKnowledge of security and compliance best practicesExperience with AWS, hybrid cloud environments, and related cloud technologiesRequired Certification (one of the following):AWS Certified Developer – AssociateAWS DevOps Engineer – ProfessionalCertified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)Possession of a Cloud certification is required and will be verified as part of the interview or offer process. Peraton offers enhanced benefits to employees working on our critical National Security programs, which include heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap and eligible to participate in an attractive bonus plan. #MDFSP #MPOJobs #AJCM #PeratonRoyalMove Peraton Overview Peraton is a next-generation national security company...
