Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, unit test, system test, release, deploy, and maintain custom-built Java web applications.
- Deliver full-stack development solutions, including front-end interfaces, business logic, back-end services, and database structures.
- Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and translate business and technical requirements into effective solutions.
- Develop technical specifications, application designs, documentation, and maintainable high-quality code.
- Perform troubleshooting, bug fixing, application support, and maintenance throughout testing, validation, and production cycles.
- Participate in user demonstrations, training sessions, and provide technical consultation when required.
- Support project estimation, planning, and software development lifecycle activities while following established quality standards.
- Identify opportunities for application improvements, enhancements, and modernization based on user feedback and industry best practices.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, reusable application frameworks, security improvements, and infrastructure optimization.
- Perform database design, modeling, maintenance, and implement appropriate security measures for web applications.
- Support technology initiatives involving user interface improvements, system upgrades, encryption standards, authentication, and authorization processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in software development or a related field.
- Strong experience designing reusable and scalable web-based solutions.
- Knowledge of J2EE technologies, including security, concurrency, transactions, session management, design patterns, and frameworks.
- Experience with software architecture and design patterns, component-based development, and enterprise application solutions.
- Proficiency with web application development across Unix and Windows environments.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall approaches.
- Experience gathering requirements, analyzing business needs, and translating them into technical solutions.
- Knowledge of OWASP principles and secure application development practices.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Competitive salary range of approximately CAD $90,000 - $125,000.
