Where You’ll Work
From primary to specialty care, as well as walk-in and virtual services, CHI Health Clinic delivers more options and better access so you can spend time on what matters: being healthy. We offer more than 20 specialties and 100 convenient locations; with some clinics offering extended hours.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Clinic Scheduler Coordinator, you will be a pivotal asset within our surgical access management team, playing a crucial role in supporting the scheduling and billing needs of perioperative patients across multiple CHI Health facilities. You will contribute directly to our mission by providing quality services that enhance the patient experience and ensure efficient access to surgical procedures, tests, and studies within our "faith-based healthcare system."
Every day you will expertly schedule inpatient and outpatient surgeries and medical procedures using EMR scheduling software, meticulously considering the availability of procedure rooms, equipment, staff, and anesthesia care providers. You'll coordinate complex cases across multiple departments and providers, gather essential patient demographic and provider information, and conduct patient precertification for insurance approval. This role involves ensuring all preoperative tests are scheduled, advising patients on procedural instructions, and facilitating follow-up care for a seamless patient journey.
To be successful in this surgical scheduling specialist role, you will need a strong background (equivalent to a high school graduate) in medical terminology and/or hospital experience. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain composure under chaotic situations are critical. We are seeking a highly detail-oriented professional with excellent computer proficiency and communication skills, capable of building effective working relationships across various offices and departments to ensure efficient and compassionate "healthcare coordination" and patient satisfaction.
