Description
The Director - Airport Operations Performance and Execution is the system-wide leader responsible for advising AO Station Operation Center (SOC) performance and execution. Supports AO SOC strategy by partnering with field leaders to identify overall SOC department/operational needs. Provides AO representation on key projects from development through implementation in support of larger AO Strategies. Provides overall mentorship in the design and build phases of new technologies, policies and procedures that impact the field and overall, AO strategy.
- Support of projects aligned with AO's overall strategy specifically those that impact the SOC teams across the system.
- Guide the development of requirements for new systems, technologies, policies, and procedures based on input from SOC field leaders.
- Ensure SOC field leaders are proficient, supported and embracing new tools, automation, procedures and operating modes including exception management, optimal decision making.
- Assists field leaders in solutioning any operational gaps and needed improvement - especially those with a system impact - through process & policy development and leveraging communication tools such as Leader Notices, Bulletins, etc.
- Build and sustain key relationships across the NOC and multiple divisions within the company.
- Lead and advise the SOC Performance & Execution Team and support group management activities, including career mentorship and leadership development.
This role is Hybrid to Arlington Heights, IL
Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- 5+ years AO SOC experience or operational equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in related field, equivalent operating experience, and/or a comparable balance of education and experience
- Solid understanding of Excel, Word, Power Point, SharePoint, OneNote, Spotfire, Power BI and operational tools currently in use
- Experienced knowledge of Airport Operations
- Authoritative knowledge of SOC
- Sophisticated Project Management and presentation skills
- Sophisticated team building, mentor, and development skills
- Advanced innovation and strategic decision making
- Advanced negotiation and collaboration skills
- Intermediate technical publication, data analysis and building skills
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- 8+ years Airport Operations experience or airline industry experience
- Solid understanding of Customer Service Ramp Operations Aircraft Servicing Business Partner Ops
- MBA preferred
- Intermediate skills in Data Analytics and associated Data Management Systems such as Spotfire, COGNOS and other internal data sources
The base pay range for this role is $159,790.00 to $207,998.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
