KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily accounting reconciliations, analyze account data, and support the preparation of routine financial reports.
- Maintain accounting records for day-to-day transactions in line with applicable accounting policies, standards, and internal controls.
- Complete bank reconciliations and investigate, resolve, and document reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts (e.g., banks, intercompany, suppliers, customers).
- Review invoices for completeness and accuracy and prepare payment instructions in line with approval requirements.
- Support the preparation of statutory reporting packages and periodic financial statements for local and group reporting needs.
- Assist with preparation of VAT returns and tax-related reporting, coordinating inputs and supporting documentation as required.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including schedules, confirmations, and audit support documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve processes, maintain accurate filing/records, and meet internal deadlines and client expectations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Basic understanding of general accounting principles and willingness to learn statutory, VAT, and tax reporting requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with financial data.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, audit, or finance operations.
- Familiarity with ERP/accounting software and bank platforms.
- Exposure to VAT preparation and/or Cyprus accounting and reporting practices.
- Progress toward a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA or equivalent).
