Accountabilities:
- Review project schedules, requirements, and timelines to support accurate quotation development.
- Analyze project specifications, plans, drawings, and technical details to identify requirements and potential issues.
- Collaborate with project managers and sales teams to review project scope before beginning material takeoffs.
- Submit requests for information (RFIs) to engineers and stakeholders when clarification is needed.
- Perform detailed material takeoffs and accurately document required products and specifications.
- Review and mark project plans to track completed takeoff items and ensure accuracy.
- Enter project details, including specifications, phases, systems, locations, and notes for each item.
- Coordinate with vendors to obtain timely and accurate pricing information.
- Identify project-specific qualifications, alternatives, and specification requirements.
- Review completed quotations and project data for accuracy before submitting materials to sales teams.
- Maintain organized electronic project files and support efficient document management processes.
- Minimum of three years of experience performing material takeoffs for waterworks materials.
- Strong working knowledge of pipe, valves, fittings, and related materials, including ductile iron pipe (DIP), steel, stainless steel, HDPE, PVC, and process valves.
- Experience interpreting construction documents, including plans, detail drawings, P&ID drawings, specifications, bid forms, and project documentation.
- Understanding of water and wastewater treatment plants, booster pumps, and pump stations is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in technical documentation and estimates.
- Ability to manage electronic files and navigate digital project management systems.
- Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and industry tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience with Planswift estimating software is a plus.
