The Controller’s group within Citizens Bank is seeking an individual to work on the Consumer Reconciliation Team. This individual will perform reconciliation activities for a wide variety of functions in the bank, to include high-risk account reconciliation and complex accounts related to installment products. Since reconciliations represent a critical internal control, these positions will partner with the teams internal customers, working with them to ensure that accounts are reconciled timely and accurately. Additionally, this position will be charged with critically reviewing reconciliation substantiation documents, providing effective challenge when it is needed. This individual will also be deeply involved in accounting system implementations and general ledger maintenance when those activities have an impact on the bank’s reconciliations
Job Functions:
Prepare general ledger account reconciliations for a variety of accounts
Supporting month end activities, preparing exposure report for Recon Control Group
Critically review supporting documentation provided by the bank’s lines of business and provide effective challenge to that documentation when necessary
Ensure that reconciliations and related documentation conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and bank policies
Partner with the various lines of business throughout the bank regarding reconciliation-related accounting issues, including exception management and instruction
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting
Relevant accounting and/or progressive reconciliation experience in a large multi-divisional/multi-entity company (banking preferred)
Experience with large general ledger systems (experience with the Oracle general ledger system is strongly preferred)
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access & PowerPoint)
Strong quantitative, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills
Experience preparing & presenting reports to various levels of management
