Overview of the role
We are currently hiring for a Business Development Account Manager to join our Düsseldorf Sales team.
This is a commercially driven, target-led sales role for someone with a strong hunter mentality and a clear focus on revenue growth. It is not a pure account management position. We are looking for a numbers-driven salesperson with high energy, resilience, and a can-do attitude who is motivated by winning business, exceeding targets, and converting opportunities into revenue.
The Business Development Account Manager will own ambitious sales and activity targets across their territory and take full responsibility for driving renewals, upsell, cross-sell, and new business. The role covers the full sales cycle, from prospecting and cold calling through discovery, solution selling, negotiation, closing, and follow-up. Success in this role requires persistence, commercial instinct, and the discipline to build and maintain a strong outreach cadence that keeps opportunities moving forward.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable picking up the phone, opening doors through cold outreach, and asking the right questions to uncover client needs. The ideal candidate combines excellent communication skills with curiosity, consultative selling ability, and strong negotiation skills. They should be proactive in following up with pace and consistency, able to handle objections confidently, and determined not to let opportunities go cold at the first sign of resistance.
Key responsibilities
- Own and deliver against individual revenue, renewal, upsell, and activity targets
- Proactively build pipeline through prospecting, outreach, cold calling, and consistent follow-up cadence
- Manage the full sales cycle from first contact and discovery through demonstration, proposal, negotiation, closing, and onboarding
- Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities across existing accounts and prospective clients
- Use strong questioning and discovery skills to understand client needs, pain points, commercial priorities, and buying drivers
- Lead commercial conversations with confidence and persistence, handling objections and pushing opportunities forward
- Negotiate renewals, upsell opportunities, and new business agreements to maximise revenue
- Maintain high levels of sales activity, momentum, and pipeline discipline across the territory
Skills / Proficiencies required
- Highly commercially driven, numbers-focused, and motivated by hitting and exceeding sales targets
- Proven experience in SaaS sales, consultative sales, or another target-led B2B sales environment
- Comfortable with cold calling, proactive outreach, and maintaining a consistent follow-up cadence to progress opportunities
- Dedicated to reaching activity targets as well as revenue targets, with strong personal discipline and pace
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the confidence to challenge, influence, and close
- Curious and consultative, with the ability to ask the right questions to uncover needs and shape relevant solutions
- Resilient, persistent, and comfortable handling objections; someone who does not take no at face value and knows how to keep deals moving
- Strong interest in FMCG industries; experience selling into or working with FMCG clients is highly desirable
Salary
- €53,000 - €69,700 DOE
