Accountabilities:
- Build and execute business development strategies to expand partnerships with new state education agencies and increase organizational reach.
- Develop and manage a strong pipeline of prospective partners, including identifying opportunities, initiating relationships, and securing long-term contracts.
- Establish connections with decision-makers and present the organization’s mission, model, and impact to potential partners.
- Create systems and processes to support effective business development operations and opportunity tracking.
- Monitor legislation, state budgets, and policy developments to identify partnership and funding opportunities.
- Increase organizational visibility among education leaders, policymakers, advocates, and other influential stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, events, and relevant forums through speaking engagements and thought leadership activities.
- Develop strategies to strengthen brand reputation and external positioning among key audiences.
- Partner with internal leadership teams to maintain and renew existing contracts and funding relationships.
- Lead strategies to secure continued financial support through government funding, philanthropic partnerships, and other revenue sources.
- Develop and manage foundation fundraising efforts, including grant proposals, reporting, and relationship cultivation.
- Support the creation of compelling written materials, presentations, and external communications that advance organizational goals.
- Proven experience developing new business opportunities with government agencies, public institutions, or similar organizations, resulting in multi-year contracts or partnerships.
- Strong track record of building and managing relationships with government leaders, nonprofits, community organizations, policymakers, funders, and other external stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to inspire action and clearly articulate mission, strategy, and impact.
- Demonstrated success in strategic fundraising, including securing support from foundations and institutional funders.
- Strong writing and editing abilities, particularly for grant proposals, reports, strategic documents, and persuasive communications.
- Experience managing external partnerships and representing organizations with credibility and professionalism.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities, solve complex challenges, and build scalable systems.
- Understanding of government contracting processes, state budget cycles, or legislative funding mechanisms preferred.
- Experience working with lobbyists, policy advocates, or government relations initiatives is preferred.

- Competitive salary range of $150,000 – $170,000 per year.
