Responsibilities

  • Performs compilations and reviews for clients in various industries. 
  • Project manages one or more client assignments simultaneously with effective use of project management techniques and organization of resources to ensure achievement of assignment objectives. 
  • Performs a detailed review of the assignment team’s work to ensure quality, thoroughness and completion of assignment tasks within agreed timeframes.
  • Reviews trial balance and general ledgers for businesses
  • Prepare applicable tax returns or review applicable returns prepared by junior staff
  • Interact closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting and compliance services in a timely and effective manner
  • Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing expectations, and meeting deadlines
  • A track record of delivering quality work for clients; demonstrating an understanding of the client's business and relevant professional standards and maintaining excellent client relationships
  • A proven ability to use the provision of compliance services as an opportunity to identify further relevant issues and identify new opportunities
  • Creative problem-solving including ability to identify, recommend and implement solutions using multiple sources of information for tax related client issues
  • A professional services background with experience of working across clients while actively seeking new learning opportunities to stay technically up to date building on their knowledge of the firm's service offerings
  • Attend professional development and continuing education sessions on a regular basis
  • Some local travel to client locations required

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and auditing/tax standards to effectively supervise staff and solve routing engagement problems.
  • Experience with accounting software.
  • Solid organization skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • 1 year supervisory experience preferred
  • CPA candidates preferred
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
