Your role and responsibilities As the Security Technical Program Manager in the Trust & Security organization, you will play a critical role in fulfilling the vision to secure Confluent’s platform and cloud offerings through a combination of technical expertise, security experience, and excellent program management skills. You should be comfortable and experienced in driving and delivering highly complex projects on time, running significant security programs that span the entire company, and participating in operational security exercises, such as incident response and vulnerability management. What You Will Do:Manage and scale security programs by defining milestones and success criteria, resource allocation, and successful on-time delivery with minimal supervisionProactively identify and resolve roadblocks/challenges affecting projectsDrive automation and process improvements for security programsExplain technical architecture, decisions, and tradeoffs to both engineering and other functionsWork with Engineering, Product, and Security leadership to streamline and drive our projects on a predictable scheduleWork with stakeholders to drive cross-cutting and/or critical security initiatives for the companyParticipate in operational security work, including incident response and vulnerability management Required education Bachelor's Degree Preferred education Master's Degree Required technical and professional expertise 3-5 years of relevant industry experienceSecurity experience is essential for this roleExperience in running long-term security programs that deliver iterative improvements and risk reduction over timeExperience in operational security work, such as incident response and vulnerability management, M&AExperience driving complex and massive projects across the organizationsExperience in areas such as release management, cost modeling, and capacity planning is a plusStrong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills to work with both engineering and other non-technical stakeholdersExperience managing end-to-end lifecycle of technical projectsStrong technical skills Experience in actual design and development of software projects is a plusExperience in standing up or scaling an incident response and detection engineering program is a plusBachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience Years of Experience:4 - 8 ABOUT BUSINESS UNIT IBM Software infuses core business operations with intelligence—from machine learning to generative AI—to help make organizations more responsive, productive, and resilient.
