In this role, you will be the owner of the accounting and tax compliance for our Polish entity. You will bridge the gap between local statutory requirements (Polish Accounting Act) and Group Accounting Policies (IFRS).Your mission is to ensure the month-end closing process is seamless, data is bulletproof, and all reporting - both internal to HQ and external to Polish authorities - is delivered with the highest precision. You will work in a fast-paced, international environment, collaborating closely with local, regional, and central finance teams. THE JOURNEYAccounting & Closing ManagementLead and execute the full month-end and year-end closing process for the Polish entity, ensuring all deadlines are met.Maintain the company’s accounting books in accordance with the Polish Accounting Act (UoR) and Group Accounting Policies.Ensure completeness, accuracy, and reliability of all financial data recorded in the general ledger.Manage and supervise monthly accruals, provisions, and deferrals.Effectively cooperate with the local financial team, financial teams located in our HQ and external services providers. Tax, Statutory & Statistical ReportingOversee tax compliance: Supervise the preparation and filing of VAT, CIT, and other tax obligations (in cooperation with external service providers).Statutory reporting: Prepare annual financial statements according to Polish accounting standards.Statistical reporting: Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to GUS (Statistics Poland) and NBP (National Bank of Poland).Monitor changes in Polish tax law and accounting regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.Collaboration & AuditLiaison for Group Finance: Cooperate with local Finance Team and Regional Controllers and HQ regarding Group reporting and policy alignment.Audit Management: Effectively cooperate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations for annual audits.Support the Head of Finance in ad-hoc financial analysis and local treasury/cash-flow management.Process Excellence & LeadershipSupervision: Guide and review the work of junior team members or external accounting partners, ensuring high-quality output.Automation: Drive initiatives to standardize and automate accounting processes (e.g., ERP improvements).Maintain and update internal accounting procedures and control frameworks.QualificationsWHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDEEducation: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.Certification: Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or Polish Ministry of Finance/SKwP certificate) is a strong asset.Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a proven track record in a "Senior" or "Chief" role within a multinational environment.Standards: Expert knowledge of Polish Accounting Standards (UoR) and Polish Tax Regulations and sound proficiency in IFRS.Audit Background: Not necessary but experience working in or with Big 4 audit firms is a strong advantage.Tools: Advanced knowledge of SAP (or similar Tier 1 ERP) and expert level MS Excel.
