EnSafe is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team in the Nashville, TN office.
This position requires working onsite at the EnSafe Nashville, TN office; relocation support may be offered to accommodate this request.

A Compliance Specialist who will combine technical expertise, strong people skills, and a client-focused mindset to help organizations navigate and comply with environmental compliance regulations. You should be eager to roll up your sleeves and support clients locally, regionally, and nationally by developing pragmatic, cost-effective strategies that keep them in compliance, minimize liability, and enhance environmental performance.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will:
The successful candidate should have a proven ability to assist clients with understanding and complying with local, state, and federal regulations. Areas of business include:
- Developing and/or revising various U.S. EPA and state-required written programs or contingency plans (SWPPP, SPCC, Hazardous Waste Contingency Plans, etc.).
- Completing annual reporting such as annual waste summaries, Emergency Planning Community Right-to-Know Act reports (i.e., Tier II, Form R), and emissions inventories.
- Evaluating and documenting air emissions, Permit-By-Rule applications, New Source Review Applications, and conducting emissions calculations.
- Preparing scope of services, cost estimates, and proposals for clients.
- Evaluating and writing environmental permit applications for various media such as wastewater, stormwater, and air emissions.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:
- BS or BA in Geology, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or Equivalent Sciences.
- At least Four (4) or more years of professional-level experience is desired; prior experience in environmental consulting is preferred.
- Effective written/verbal communication, presentation, and organization/analytical skills; experience authoring detailed technical reports and plans.
- Strong organizational and time management skills while working on multiple projects for multiple clients; candidates must be detail-oriented, assertive, and exhibit good listening and note-taking skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, particularly Microsoft Excel functions and formulas.
- Regular travel to client locations (local and regional) with occasional national travel possible; approximately 30% overnight travel.
- Candidates must be willing and able to work independently with minimal oversight in select circumstances.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including rain and heat.
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs, as well as work at higher elevations such as building rooftops and tank farms.
- A Valid Driver’s license is required.
- Commitment to uphold EnSafe standards of quality and safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and diversified environment.
- Ability to pass a background check.
