What you’ll do
- Own the preparation of periodic financial statements, including Form 10-K and 10-Q, ensuring every disclosure reflects the real-world complexity of our global operations.
- Navigate high-pressure month-end and quarter-end close activities, recording journal entries and reconciliations while managing competing deadlines across multiple business units.
- Build and maintain complex supporting schedules in Workiva, figuring out how to automate and streamline processes to increase execution speed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Technical Accounting, Legal, and Product teams to assess the financial impact of new transactions and growth campaigns.
- Unblock external audit requests by providing clear, thorough documentation and support for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to mitigate SOX compliance issues, identifying opportunities to enhance internal controls in an ambiguous and evolving environment.
Basic Qualifications
- 3 + years of experience in accounting or a relevant financial role.
- B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based reporting platforms such as Workiva/WDesk and Oracle R12.
- Proven ability to work well in ambiguity and manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Systems-thinking mindset with a mix of public company experience and Big 4 audit experience.
- CPA certification or equivalent professional qualification.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $118,000 per year - USD $131,000 per year.
You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
