Cloud Operations Technical Team Lead

As a Cloud Operations Technical Team Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of our cloud infrastructure supporting connected automotive solutions. This position combines technical leadership with people management, giving you the opportunity to lead a highly skilled Cloud Operations team while remaining actively involved in solving complex technical challenges.

You will drive operational excellence, champion automation, and help shape the future of our cloud platform by working closely with software engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, and product teams across a global organization.

Your Role

As the Cloud Operations Technical Team Lead, you will:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Cloud Operations Engineers, fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous learning.
  • Establish team objectives, provide regular feedback, identify development opportunities and promote knowledge sharing to build a high-performing Cloud Operations organization.
  • Oversee the daily operations of production cloud environments, ensuring high availability, performance, reliability and security of our SaaS platform.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for complex production incidents, troubleshooting critical issues and participating in on-call rotations when required.
  • Design, implement and continuously improve cloud infrastructure and networking solutions across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Collaborate with software development, DevOps and product teams to define cloud architecture, infrastructure standards and operational best practices.
  • Own and optimize cloud deployment pipelines using modern CI/CD practices, ensuring reliable, secure and efficient software releases.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM Templates and AWS CloudFormation to automate provisioning and configuration management.
  • Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort and increase platform reliability.
  • Enhance monitoring, observability, alerting and incident response processes while continuously improving operational maturity.
  • Support lifecycle management activities, including platform upgrades, security patching and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Manage Linux-based cloud environments, automation tooling, configuration management and MySQL databases to ensure stable and secure operations.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements that enhance system performance, scalability and operational excellence.

Your Background

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working in Cloud Operations, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Infrastructure Engineering or a similar technical role.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring technical teams (Team Lead, Technical Lead, Engineering Lead, Scrum Master or similar).
  • Strong hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud platform (AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking, infrastructure architecture and production operations.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, AWS DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar technologies.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation and/or ARM Templates.
  • Experience administering Linux environments and automating infrastructure using Ansible or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting production SaaS platforms with a strong focus on availability, incident response and operational excellence.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional teams.

Preferred

  • Experience working in Agile development environments (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience with MySQL administration and database performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, observability and logging platforms.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Passion for automation, AI-assisted engineering tools and continuous improvement.
  • Experience within automotive software or connected vehicle technologies is considered an advantage.
