Scientist-Bioanalytical

Labcorp is seeking a Scientist-Bioanalytical to join our team in Shanghai, China

Job Responsibilities:

  • Independently conducts routine and non-routine laboratory analyses, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Performs complex analytical testing, including use of unfamiliar techniques with limited guidance.
  • Identifies technical issues and leads troubleshooting activities for non-standard problems.
  • Evaluates analytical data and provides scientifically sound interpretation and recommendations.
  • Performs QC review to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Supports and partially leads method development, validation, and optimization activities.
  • Suggests modifications to analytical methods, procedures, or workflows based on data and observations.
  • Assists in drafting and updating methods, SOPs, and technical documents.
  • Independently operates, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory instruments.
  • Performs routine and non-routine maintenance and identifies equipment issues.
  • Participates in equipment qualification, verification, and performance monitoring.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and audit-ready documentation in accordance with GxP requirements.
  • Ensures adherence to SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and data integrity standards.
  • Escalates deviations and contributes to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Provides guidance and training to junior staff on laboratory techniques and procedures.
  • Assists in improving team technical capability through knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborates effectively with internal teams and contributes to a positive lab environment.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities within laboratory workflows.
  • Contributes to improved efficiency, quality, and reliability of analytical processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in pharmacy, pharmaceutical analysis or chemistry.
  • 4 or more years of experience in bioanalytical industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with the use of standard laboratory equipment (e.g., balances, pipettes, centrifuges).
  • Experience with use and trouble shooting of analytical equipment.
  • Ability to design and independently conduct tests for chemistry projects and provide initial analysis of results.

Additional Job Standards:

  • Effective communication (verbal and written), presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Acts as technical resource for the department (trouble shooting, method development, qualification, maintenance and training).
  • Evaluates data for incorporation into written reports.
  • Advanced time management skills to complete project assignments on time, with minimal or no supervision.
  • Able to effectively schedule resources.
  • Understands and helps staff with compliance to SOPs and other regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities, recommends solutions and implements action plans.
  • Effectively interacts with internal and/or external clients.
  • Acts as a project leader.
  • Ability to assist in the preparation of relevant sections of final reports.
