We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supervisor to lead a critical team in integrating cutting-edge technologies that will define the next generation of efficient and high-performance vehicles.

 

The Opportunity: In this pivotal role, you will lead a dynamic team of engineers & Project Mgrs dedicated to the integration of low-voltage power supply module hardware. This includes crucial components like DCDC converters, ultracapacitors, and capacitors. You will be instrumental in pioneering innovative solutions that enhance vehicle-level efficiency and meet stringent functional attributes, directly contributing to Ford's commitment to technological leadership and sustainable mobility.

What you'll do...

 

  • Team & Technical Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of engineers through the implementation of low-voltage power supply module hardware, from initial architecture design to final implementation/Launch in vehicles.

  • Program Execution & Quality Assurance: Drive rigorous program execution, ensuring adherence to established processes, comprehensive sign-offs, and meticulous documentation to meet all quality and functional requirements. Take full ownership of Ford’s GPDS milestone management system for Electronics Module applications and Program Management timelines.  Insure proper Chief and Manager signoffs with TDR’s at key milestones.

  • Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and address complex issues related to packaging & electrical design; leading root cause analysis, defining effective corrective actions, and overseeing their implementation. You will leverage quality tools such as Global 8D problem solving, 5 Why’s, and Is/Is Not to communicate status and drive resolutions.

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Facilitate critical trade-off discussions with key stakeholders, ensuring robust engineering reviews and decision forums lead to clear alignment and optimal outcomes. Work closely with Core Electronics Module Design Supervisor & Team.

  • Core, Supplier & Architecture Interface: Serve as the primary liaison between the module suppliers specifically on Timing plans and projects.  Work closely with Core team and support their timing needs with suppliers.  Support the vehicle architecture team with packaging location and Electrical connections for electronic modules.

  • Applications/EPM Requirement Management: Manage requirments and follow ups with Core team.  Manage DCR’s, To4, ESOW’s, FMA documents (SCCAF’s and CPA’s) and other key program level deliverables. Support vehicle level testing and interaction (Garage testing, wind tunnel testing, etc).

  • Other: Review and establish SDS testing through FEDEDDVP; Review and Edit Owner and Workshop manuals; Monitor AIMS & DURSI & Customer Fleet and react to any issues and follow to closure.

  • Financial Planning Input: Review annual Financial Planning volumes to assess and incorporate changes in planning assumptions for all low-voltage power supply hardware.

  • Efficiency & Value Engineering: Support core on design efficiency and Total Value Management (TVM) studies for targeted programs and components, driving cost optimization and performance enhancements.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • 1+ years of direct leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience overseeing engineers or technical program managers

  • Experience and demonstrated knowledge of electrical modules, PCB/circuit design (DCDC’s, Ultracapacitors).

  • Demonstrated success in leading electrical modules through the launch process to production, coupled with the ability to communicate effectively in high-pressure situations.     Experience in Applications Engineering and Program Management.

  • 3+ years of experience delivering electrical modules to production.

  • 3+ years of experience in component design and release

  • Proven cross-functional leadership capabilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively interface with senior leadership.

  • A self-motivated approach with the ability to define strategic plans and proficiently manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.

  • A strong cost and quality mindset, applied to both process optimization and product delivery.

 

Even better, you may have...

  • Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • Experience with Vehicle Program execution and delivery.

  • Knowledge and practical experience with Electronics Modules.

  • 5+ years experience in Electronics Design

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-$218,100.   

  

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
