Basic Qualifications

Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities for this Position

The Manufacturing Operations Technician provides technical direction and manufacturing engineering support to the Incoming Inspection and production areas at the Boren Drive facility. This role does not perform inspections directly, but provides the technical guidance, documentation, tooling support, and process expertise that inspection personnel rely on to execute efficiently and effectively. The technician works closely with engineering, production personnel, quality, and other internal customers.

 

 Experience:

  • CMM programming experience preferred.
  • Experience with general mechanical inspection methodologies and equipment
  • Advanced inspection processes and selection preferred (Non-destruction Testing, Visual Systems, Sampling, etc).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical direction and support to inspection personnel on inspection methods, acceptance criteria, and material requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and update control plans for incoming inspection processes.
  • Provide technical guidance on incoming inspection methods, equipment operation, and result interpretation.
  • Define inspection criteria and methods based on engineering drawings, critical features, GD&T callouts, and material specifications.
  • Identify, specify, and support incoming inspection tooling and fixtures.
  • Provide technical support for disposition of nonconforming material per quality procedures.
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, purchasing, and production teams to resolve inspection-related technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain inspection-related work instructions, procedures, and documentation.
  • Stay current with advancements in inspection equipment and techniques essential for maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and compliance within operational processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the incoming inspection and production areas.

Incoming Inspection & Production Inspection Areas — Specific Duties:

  • Control Plans: Collaborate with QA by peer reviewing new, revised or general maintenance of Control Plans for incoming inspection processes in accordance with ISO9001 and internal quality requirements.
  • Technical Inspection Support: Serve as the primary technical resource for Incoming Inspection operations, including equipment operation, calibration coordination, and result interpretation.
  • Inspection Tooling: Identify, procure, maintain, and support inspection tooling and fixtures. Ensure tooling is properly calibrated and documented.
  • Mfg Engineering Support: Provide general manufacturing engineering support as needed, including fixture design input, process documentation, cross-functional troubleshooting or other tasks/duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Familiar with statistical process controls.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and diagrams.
  • Clear proficiency in troubleshooting manufacturing systems and process issues.
  • Clear communication skills for interacting with internal customers.
  • Ability to implement and document process improvements.
  • Clear knowledge of preventive maintenance functions on manufacturing equipment.
  • Clear computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 quality management system requirements.
  • Knowledge of testing methods, equipment, and material verification processes preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret material certifications and test reports is preferred.
  • Exposure to GD&T concepts preferred.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • IPC-A-610 — Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies
  • J-STD-001 — Soldering Requirements for Electrical and Electronic Assemblies
  • GD&T certification or formal training
  • ISO9001 awareness training
  • CMM manufacturer certification (e.g., Zeiss, Hexagon, Mitutoyo)

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $28.52 - USD $30.59 /Hr.
