Position Summary

Reporting to the Dean, the Administrative Manager is a key member of the Office of the Dean for GPH and will oversee a broad range of activities within the Office of the Dean; monitor school-wide progress on strategic goals; manage numerous projects; and ensure the effective execution of various strategic endeavors through close collaboration with the Dean. The role will oversee Dean’s communications, reports to faculty and central administration, briefings, agendas, meeting minutes, and committee reports. The incumbent will manage the Office of the Dean’s staff on day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness and optimizing the use of available resources. Maintain the Dean’s calendar by coordinating and prioritizing appointments, setting meetings, and providing briefing materials. The incumbent will oversee travel arrangements and the submission of reimbursements. They will also manage special reports and projects through research, collection of documents, development of timelines, and project milestones. This high-impact role requires exceptional diplomatic skills, sharp administrative acumen, and the ability to anticipate needs in a fast-paced academic environment. Prioritize and arrange the Dean's appointments and meetings with the Dean, chairs, faculty, students, staff, donors, and University officers; screen requests and individuals requesting appointments and resolve problems; determine which cases need the Dean's immediate attention. Manage a variety of School-wide events and activities. Supervise Dean's Office staff.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's Degree Preferred Education:Master's Degree Required Experience:5+ years Relevant professional-level experience or an equivalent combination. Must include experience managing executive-level operations and supervising staff; intermediate to advanced knowledge with program administration, planning, and promoting special events, and managing budgets. Must be comfortable working with high-level executives, corporate leaders, and University stakeholders. Preferred Experience:Experience in an academic or corporate environment and experience interacting with analytical teams driven by deadlines. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:This high-impact role requires exceptional diplomatic skills, sharp administrative acumen, and the ability to anticipate needs in a fast-paced academic environment Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide variety of internal and external people, both in formal and informal circumstances, and where necessary to gain their agreement and acceptance. Ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously to successful completion. Ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information (such as speech, sounds, touch, or other sources). Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance. Demonstrable ability to lead and deliver strategically important projects through to completion. Demonstrates ability to plan and organize projects including schedules, budgets, and project deliverables. Demonstrates project management skills. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills. Skilled in Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand. Demonstrates excellent project management skills with the utmost collegiality, diplomacy and discretion.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $95,000.00 to USD $115,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
