Job Description
We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and support scalable data engineering solutions that power analytics, AI, and business-critical data products. This role combines strong software engineering fundamentals with modern data engineering practices and requires an individual who thrives in a collaborative, agile environment and takes ownership of delivering reliable, high-quality solutions.
What You'll Do
Design & Deliver Data Solutions
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and applications
- Build batch and real-time solutions supporting analytics and AI use cases
- Deliver production-ready, high-quality code aligned to engineering standards
Drive Engineering Excellence
- Create reliable, scalable, and performant solutions
- Apply software engineering best practices, code reviews, testing, and automation
- Ensure compliance, security, and operational readiness throughout the development lifecycle
Support Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and implement improvements
- Champion DevOps, DataOps, and software reliability engineering practices
- Help improve engineering processes, delivery velocity, and overall solution quality
Collaborate Across Teams
- Partner with product, architecture, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions
- Translate requirements into technical designs and actionable development plans
- Communicate progress, risks, and blockers proactively

- Leverage modern technologies, cloud platforms, and AI-enabled development tools

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Five+ years of relevant software engineering or data engineering experience
Preferred Skills & Experience
Data Engineering & Development
- Experience building scalable data pipelines and data processing solutions
- Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, and software engineering best practices
- Experience delivering production-grade applications and data products
Platforms & Cloud
- Experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake
- Familiarity with Kafka, Spark, CDC frameworks, or related technologies
- Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud environments
Engineering Practices
- Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD principles
- Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, architectural patterns, and system design
- Experience with monitoring, data quality, and operational support practices
Collaboration & Problem Solving
- Ability to work effectively across product, engineering, and business teams
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand business objectives and translate them into technical solutions
Location Expectation
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
