As the Capital Planning Lead, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our capital investments for the Avionics Manufacturing site. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure effective and efficient allocation of resources, aligning with the company's overall business objectives. In addition, this role will be responsible for customer rate readiness reviews.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:  

  • Capital Budgeting: Develop and manage the annual capital budget for the Melbourne site, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial targets.
  • Project Evaluation: Evaluate proposed capital projects, conducting feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments to support informed decision-making.
  • Resource Allocation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to allocate resources effectively, balancing the needs of various projects and departments within the Melbourne site.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to track project performance, monitor spending against budget, and identify areas for improvement or optimization.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements related to capital expenditures. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with capital projects, working closely with project managers and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and conditions, ensuring cost-effectiveness in procurement activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in capital planning processes, identifying, and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience If position is Engineering/Other Technical Position:
  • 5 + years’ experience in capital planning, budgeting, and financial analysis within a manufacturing environment.   
  • SAP experience.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including index match, v-look ups, pivot tables, sum if & count if, and concatenate functions.  

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field. MBA or relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • Practical application of project management principles and practices, PMP Certification preferred.
  • Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks.
  • Aerospace or avionics manufacturing experience.  
  • Experience in a programming language such as Python or R. 
  • Experience with data visualization - especially using Tableau and PowerBI tools. 
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
