Position Overview
Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join Baylor Scott & White Pulmonary Care Consultants - Rockwall. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established pulmonary practice dedicated to providing comprehensive outpatient care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
This position is 100% outpatient, offering a predictable Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule with no inpatient responsibilities. The Advanced Practice Provider will work collaboratively with board-certified pulmonologists to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a broad spectrum of pulmonary and sleep-related disorders while delivering exceptional, patient-centered care.
The clinic provides comprehensive pulmonary services including management of asthma, COPD, chronic cough, pulmonary nodules, lung masses, pulmonary function testing, oxygen therapy, smoking cessation, and sleep-related breathing disorders.

Essential Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations for patients with pulmonary and sleep-related conditions.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic respiratory diseases in the outpatient setting.
- Develop evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate pulmonary function testing, laboratory studies, chest imaging, and other diagnostic testing.
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments within scope of practice.
- Manage patients with conditions including, but not limited to:
- Asthma
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Chronic cough
- Shortness of breath
- Pulmonary nodules
- Lung masses
- Sleep apnea
- Other pulmonary and sleep disorders
- Provide education regarding disease management, inhaler therapies, oxygen therapy, smoking cessation, sleep hygiene, and preventive pulmonary care.
- Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, imaging departments, and ancillary services.
- Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently within the electronic medical record.
- Initiate referrals and consultations when appropriate.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with Baylor Scott & White Health policies and clinical standards.
The practice offers comprehensive evaluation and management for pulmonary conditions such as asthma, COPD, chronic cough, pulmonary nodules, pulmonary rehabilitation, oxygen therapy, pulmonary function testing, sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and other sleep disorders.

Qualifications
Required Education
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) program
Required Licensure & Certifications
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN licensure
- Current Texas Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license
- Current certification as an Nurse Practitioner (NP) from an accredited national certifying body
- Current Texas Nurse Practitioner license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in Pulmonary Medicine, Internal Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Critical Care, or Family Medicine preferred
- Strong interest in Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine
- Experience managing chronic disease processes preferred
- Providers transitioning into Pulmonary Medicine will receive comprehensive specialty training and mentorship
